01 JANUARY DIVINE MATERNITY OF MARY

PRAYER to MARY

O most holy Virgin, who proclaimed yourself humble handmaid of the Lord,

you were chosen by the Most High to become Mother of his only-begotten Son,

our Savior Jesus Christ.
We admire your greatness and invoke your maternal goodness.
We know that you look at us with mother tenderness,

because we too have become, by grace, your children.
So to you we raise our heart,

we consecrate ourselves to you with all filial confidence;

we rely on your heavenly protection

because you watch lovingly on our way.
Take them in your maternal arms, O Mary,

how you welcomed Jesus your divine Son.

O God, principle and source
of every blessing,

receive from the hands of the Virgin Mary,

that we salute Mother of the Savior,

thanks and supplication from this family:
grant us forgiveness for the past,

goodwill for the present,
providence for the future,
arrange works and days in your peace
and give us life and health throughout the year.
