06 JANUARY EPIPHANY OF OUR JESUS CHRIST
PRAYERS FOR THE EPIPHANY
You therefore, O Lord, Father of lights,
that you sent your only son, light born of light,
to illuminate the darkness of mortals,
grant us to come to the eternal light by the way of light,
so that, in the light of the living,
we are welcome in front of you,
that you live and reign for ever and ever. Amen
O God alive and true,
that you have revealed the incarnation of your Word
with the appearance of a star
and you led the Magi to worship him
and to bring him generous gifts,
make that star of justice
do not set sunsets in the sky of our souls,
and the treasure to offer you consists
in the testimony of life.
Amen.
The splendor of your glory, O God, illuminate hearts
because, walking in the night of the world,
in the end we can get to your abode of light.
Amen.
Give us, Father, the living experience of the Lord Jesus
which revealed itself to the silent meditation of the Magi
and to the worship of all peoples;
and make all men find truth and salvation
in the illuminating encounter with him,
our Lord and our God.
Amen.
Also manifest to us, O almighty God,
the mystery of the Savior of the world,
revealed to the Magi under the guidance of the star,
and grow more and more in our spirit.
Amen.
PRAYER TO THE Wise Men
O most perfect worshipers of the newborn Messiah,
Holy Magi, true models of Christian courage,
that nothing appalled you about the arduous journey
and that readily at the sign of the star
followed the divine aspirations,
obtain for us all the grace that in your imitation
always have to go to Jesus Christ
and to worship him with lively faith when we enter his house,
and we continually offer him the gold of charity,
the incense of prayer, the myrrh of penance,
and we never decline from the path of holiness,
that Jesus taught us so well with his own example,
even before with their own lessons;
and do, o Holy Magi, that we can deserve from the Divine Redeemer
his chosen blessings here on earth
and then the possession of eternal glory.
So be it.

NOVENA TO THE Wise Men
1 ° Day
O Holy Magi that you lived in continuous waiting for the star of Jacob who was to admire the
birth of the true Sun of justice, obtain the grace to always live in the hope of
to see the day of truth, the bliss of Heaven, appear on us.
«Since, behold, darkness covers the earth, thick fog envelops the nations; but on you
the Lord shines, his glory appears on you "(Is. 60,2).

O Holy Magi that at the first shine of the miraculous star you left your countries for

O Holy Magi who abandoned the star in the city of Jerusalem, humbly resorted to
anyone who could give you certain information of the place where the object of your research was,
obtain from the Lord the grace that we resort to in all doubts, in all uncertainties
humbly to him with confidence.
"The peoples will walk in your light, the kings in the splendor of your rising" (Is. 60,3).

5 ° Day
O Holy Magi who unexpectedly were comforted by the reappearance of the star, your guide,
obtain from the Lord the grace that by remaining faithful to God in all trials, sorrows,
pains, we deserve to be comforted in this life and saved in eternity.
"At that sight you will be radiant, your heart will beat and dilate" (Is. 60,5).

6 ° Day
O Holy Magi who entered full faith in the stable in Bethlehem you prostrated yourselves on the ground in
adoration of the Child Jesus, even if surrounded by poverty and weakness, get us from the Lord
the grace to always revive our faith when we enter his home in order to
introduce ourselves to God with the respect due to the greatness of his Majesty.
«The riches of the sea will pour out on you, they will come to the goods of all peoples»
(Is.60,5)

O Holy Magi, who by offering Jesus Christ gold, frankincense and myrrh, you recognized him as King, as God
and as a man, obtain from the Lord the grace not to present us with empty hands before
Him, but rather that we can offer the gold of charity, the incense of prayer and myrrh
of penance, because we too can worthily adore him.
«A crowd of camels will invade you, dromedaries of Midian and Efa, all will come from Saba
bringing gold and incense and proclaiming the glories of the Lord "(Is. 60,6).

occasion of sin.
«Because the people and the kingdom that will not serve you will perish and the nations will be all
exterminated "(Is 60,12).

O Holy Magi that attracted to Bethlehem from the splendor of the star came from afar guided
by faith, be a symbol for all men, so that they choose the light of Christ by renouncing
to the mirages of the world, to the enticements of the pleasures of the flesh, aldemonium and its suggestions
and they can thus deserve the beatific vision of God.
