O our Great Protector S. Egidio Abate, who in your life have constantly observed the evangelical counsels, obtain from the Lord the grace to make us enlighten and guide by his Word and not by the pleasures of this life. As our beloved protector, he removes discord, rivalry, pride, selfishness from us; give us your help because we can live according to humility, poverty, prayer and penance practicing true love according to the words of Jesus to live in peace. Defend us from the evils of body and spirit, protect the country, its families and its inhabitants from all misfortune and from all evil, and above all obtain the grace of our eternal salvation.
