10 tips to prevent Christians from losing their faith

Christian life is not always an easy road. Sometimes we go astray. The Bible says in the book of Hebrews to encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ every day so that no one turns away from the living God.

If you feel far from the Lord and think you may be demoted, these practical steps will help you get back on track with God and get back on course today. Each of these practical passages is supported by a passage (or passages) from the Bible.

Everything you need
A bible
A daily relationship with God
A Christian friend
A church that teaches the Bible
Regularly review your life of faith.
2 Corinthians 13: 5 (NIV):

Test yourself to see if you are in the faith; challenge yourself. Don't you realize that Christ Jesus is in you, unless, of course, you pass the test?

If you find yourself drifting, go back immediately.
Hebrews 3: 12-13 (NIV):

Make sure, brothers, that none of you have a sinful and unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage each other every day, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you can be hardened by the deception of sin.

Come to God every day for forgiveness and purification.
1 John 1: 9 (NIV):

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all injustice.

Revelation 22:14 (NIV):

Blessed are those who wash their garments, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and can pass through the city gates.

Continue every day to seek the Lord with all your heart.
1 Chronicles 28: 9 (NIV):

And you, my son Solomon, recognize the God of your father and serve him with sincere devotion and with an available mind, since the Eternal seeks every heart and understands every motive behind thoughts. If you search for it, it will be found by you; but if you abandon it, it will reject you forever.

Stay in the Word of God; keep studying and learning every day.
Proverbs 4:13 (NIV):

Wait for the instructions, don't let him go; keep it well, because it is your life.

Often stay in communion with other believers.
You cannot do it alone as a Christian. We need the strength and prayers of other believers.

Hebrews 10:25 (NLT):

And let's not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but let us encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his return is upon us.

Be firm in your faith and expect difficult moments in your Christian life.
Matthew 10:22 (NIV):

All men will hate you because of me, but the one who remains firm until the end will be saved.

Galatians 5: 1 (NIV):

It is for freedom that Christ has freed us. Stay firm, therefore, and do not let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Persevere.
1 Timothy 4: 15-17 (NIV):

Be diligent in these matters; give yourself entirely to them, so that everyone can see your progress. Look carefully at your life and doctrine. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save yourself and your listeners.

Run the race to win.
1 Corinthians 9: 24-25 (NIV):

Don't you know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run so that you get the reward. All those who compete in the games train rigorously ... we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

2 Timothy 4: 7-8 (NIV):

I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith. Now there is the crown of justice in store for me ...

Remember what God has done for you in the past.
Hebrews 10:32, 35-39 (NIV):

Remember those previous days after you received the light when you were standing in a great competition in the face of suffering. So don't throw your trust away; will be amply rewarded. You must persevere so that, when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he promised ... we are not of those who withdraw and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
