October 14: Supplication to Mary Mediatrix

My Mother, You who are continually with open arms imploring his mercy and compassion for every needy from Your Divine Son, ask him to give me his holy love, holy fear and his holy grace, and who never commits mortal sin . Ask him to take my life before I get to offend him. Obtain for me, my Mother, the grace to have for the good Jesus the love and trust that holy souls have had, and that increase Faith, Hope and Charity within me; and You, my Mother, teach me to always do his divine will.

Holy Virgin, bless my family and free it from all evil. Help the poor in agony and ask your divine Son to forgive them and free them from the eternal torment of Hell. Intercede, my Mother, with Your divine Son, so that his anger, his justice and his rigor may be appeased, and that you may free the whole world from the great punishment that we have all deserved.

Pray, my Mother, for our beloved homeland and free it from the evils that threaten it. Disrupt the plans of his enemies, who are the enemies of Jesus. Finally, I ask you, my Mother, to spread the luminous rays of the good-remembrance of the good Jesus on our souls and to be close to me in all the dangers of my life. Amen.

Devotion to Maria Mediatrix

In no way did Mother Speranza ever intend to be the first custodian of the symbolism of the image of Merciful Love and mediatory Mary; we know that to the first nuns of her Congregation she gave medals (with Christ on one face and Mary Mediatrix on the other) which were spread in Spain by Obra Amor Misericordioso by Father Arintero and Juana Lacasa.

Only later, over time, Mother Speranza released new images made by her always with the same symbolism:

on December 8, 1930 she ordered the sculptor Cullot Valera the Crucifix of Merciful Love, which was delivered to her in Madrid on June 11, 1931, on the eve of the feast of the Sacred Heart;

on 8 December 1956 a large canvas was painted in the Church of Carmine in Fermo, made by the painter Elis Romagnoli, a painting of 6 × 3 meters, which reproduces Maria Mediatrice. Today both images are venerated at the Sanctuary of Merciful Love in Collevalenza.

In 1943 he composed, as a prayer for his Congregation, also his Novena to Merciful Love; in May 1944 he had submitted it to the Holy Office, through the commissioner Mons. Alfredo Ottaviani, for having the authorization to be able to pray it publicly and in July 1945 from the Vicariate of Rome, through Mons. Luigi Traglia, he received the permission and encouragement to pray and spread it.

Father Arintero (1860-1928), Dominican, spread the word of devotion to Mary Mediatrix with word and writing, considering this Marian title as the basis of his spiritual and mystical apostolate. He too contributed a great deal to the diffusion of an Image of Mary Mediatrix which was also taken up in full by Mother Hope herself: the image of Mary Mediatrix that Mother Hope spreads is a perfect copy of that already spread by Father Arintero. For the space of several years, the Mother also collaborated with Father Arintero in spreading the devotion to Merciful Love and to Mary Mediatrix.
Even then, in the first thirty years of the twentieth century, devotion to Merciful Love, the diffusion of images of the Crucified and Mary Mediatrix, the Novena to Merciful Love had taken hold in some countries of Europe (France, Spain, Germany, etc. ) and Latin America. They also arrived in the Holy Land, in the locality of Kyriat Yearim, in Israel, probably a few years after 1936; thus assert the Sisters of St. Joseph who have been in the Holy Land since 1848 and who currently manage a reception house on the site; in the Church of Our Lady of the Ark of the Covenant there is still a statue of Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus among the images of Merciful Love and Mary Mediatrix-Foederis Arca; they would have been brought to you by the movement of the "Foyers de Charité", founded in 1936 by the French mystical secular Marthe Robin and the priest Finet.
