MARCH 23 BLESSED COCCHETTI ANNOUNCED

Born in Rovato (Bs) on May 9, 1800, Annunciata remained an orphan of her parents at the age of seven. At 17 he opened a school for the poor girls of the village in his home. At 22 she became the first teacher of the Rovato girls' school. After the death of her grandmother, who had raised her, she spent six years in Milan. In 1831 he went to Cemmo in Valcamonica where there was a school opened by Erminia Panzerini, who since 1821 managed it according to the spirit of the Opera of Santa Dorotea. Annunciata lent her work as a teacher for ten years. On the death of Panzerini in 1842 she moved to Venice becoming a Dorothean nun. In October of the same year she returned to Cemmo with two other religious and in 1843 she made her vows. For 40 years he devoted himself to the apostolate in Valcamonica. In 1853 he opened his own novitiate in Cemmo, developing it independently and spreading even outside Italy. She died on March 23, 1882. She was beatified on April 21, 1991. (Avvenire)
