MARCH 27 BLESSED FRANCIS FAA 'DI BRUNO

Francesco Faà di Bruno is part of the great group of Piedmontese social saints. He was born in Alexandria in 1825 to a military nobility family. Before becoming a priest, he himself was an officer of the Savoy army (he is the protector of the engineers), professor at the University of Turin, architect and mathematician, adviser of the Royal House. He gave birth to the Santa Zita opera for servants and a home for single mothers. He founded the Minimum Sisters of Our Lady of Suffrage. He died in 1888 and has been blessed since 1988. (Avvenire)

PRAYING, ACTING, SUFFERING was his program.

PRAYER

O Father,

you inspired the blessed Francesco Faà di Bruno

to place faith, science and charity

in the service of God and of the living and deceased brothers.

Grant that, following his example,

we are docile to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit

and we all love with the heart of Christ.

Grant us, through his intercession

and if it's not against your will,

the grace we ask of you.

For Christ our Lord.

Amen.
