3 morning prayers to say as soon as we wake up

There is never a bad time to talk to God. But when you start your day with Him, you are handing over the rest of the day to Him as well, putting God in the driver's seat for the day. You can talk about your plans, listen to His wisdom, and give Him your concerns. With God's hands on your back, you will step into each day with His grace and mercy, ready for whatever the day brings. Add one of these daily morning prayers to your routine this week and watch God work in your life.

Prayer for a new day

Dear Lord, this morning as I contemplate a new day, I ask you to help me. I want to be aware of Your spirit, that You guide me in the decisions I make, in the conversations I have and in the work I do. I want to be more like You, Jesus, when I relate to the people I meet today, friends or strangers. Jesus, You for what you have done on this earth. Even though I know I am weak, I also know that thanks to the power of Your spirit I can be strong in the work I do, in the decisions I make and in the words I say. Thank you for promising to always be with me and to be the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen.

Morning prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, how we love you; how you love us. A new day opens and we wish it to be infused with our worship for You. As we turn our eyes to Your beauty, so our spirits rise and find peace. Please pour your spirit upon us today so we can worship in new ways. We humbly ask for a deeper relationship with You, so we can have a greater awareness of the presence of God in us. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Prayer for guidance

Dear God, wherever I walk, let it be in Your way. All that I see, let it be through Your eyes. Everything I do, let it be Your will. Every difficulty I face, let me put it in your hands. Every emotion I feel, let Your spirit move in me. All that I seek, let me find in Your love. My dear God, I thank you for this day. I ask you not to know where I am going, but only to know and feel in the depths of my heart and soul that you are with me. You are guiding me and I am safe. In the name of Jesus, I offer myself to You. Amen.
