3 Particularities of the Guardian Angel that you do not know

THE ANGEL WHO PRAYS

Blessed Rosa Gattorno (18311900) says: On January 24, 1889 I was very tired and I went to the chapel to pray. I felt uneasy because I didn't find the intimacy I wanted and I was a little fearful, but calm. A beautiful angel appeared to me praying beside me. I asked him why he did this, but he didn't answer me. Rather an inner voice said to me: pray for you. Do what you can't do, make up for it. Your tiredness is very pleasing to God. Therefore, this angel Gabriel takes your place. I was very happy in my depth, because I had tasted what intimacy can make you feel (57).

The cured saint of Ars recommended: When you cannot pray, instruct your angel to do it for you.

In fact, our angel has as main task to present our prayers and to pray for us. For this reason Father Daniélou said that the guardian angel should be called the angel of prayer.

How nice to know that our guardian angel offers our prayers and prays for us, especially when we are unable to do so due to illness or tiredness. What if it isn't one, but millions praying for us? How many graces would we receive from God? For this reason, we make a covenant with the angels, consecrate ourselves to them as brothers and friends, so that they are continuously, twenty-four hours a day, to pray for us, to worship God and to love him in our name.

THE LIBERATOR ANGEL

A Chinese missionary recounted this episode, published in the magazine L'ange gardien de Lyon (France): Among the conversions of pagans to Catholicism I saw one very comforting. It concerns a twenty-one year old boy to whom God granted the miracle of St. Peter, freed from prison by his angel. This boy secretly decided to become a Christian, and disposed of his idols, to whom he set fire. But his older brother, realizing what he had done, was furious, punished him with cruelty and locked him in a house with chains on his hands, feet and neck. So he spent two days and two nights, determined to die rather than give up his new faith. The second night, while sleeping, he was awakened by a stranger who, showing him an opening in the wall, said to him "Get up and get out of here." Instantly the chains fell and the boy went out without thinking twice. As soon as he was in the street he no longer saw the opening in the wall nor his liberator. Without hesitation he went to the closest Christians and then tried to contact his brother to tell him what had happened.

THE ANGEL BODY GUARD

A contemplative religious said: When I was a girl, one day, I had to go home at night after a meeting of Catholic Action in the parish. I was alone and had to walk two kilometers in the fields. I was afraid. Suddenly I see a huge dog following me. At first I was afraid, but his eyes were so sweet ... He stopped when I stopped and followed me when I walked. It also moved its tail and this gave me a lot of tranquility. When I was almost home I heard the voice of my sister coming towards me and the dog disappeared. I had never seen him and never saw him again, even though I walked that road twice a day and knew all the dogs of the neighbors well. This is why I think it must have been my guardian angel who protected me like a shoulder guard.

Something similar also happened to St. John Bosco with a dog he called Gray, who appeared when he went home alone in the middle of the night. He never saw him eat and appeared for thirty years, a time much longer than a dog's normal life. Saint John Bosco also believed that it was his guardian angel who appeared to defend him from his enemies, who on several occasions attempted his life. Once the Gray had to face offenders who spied on him and who would have choked if Don Bosco himself had not intervened in their favor.
