June 4 SAN FILIPPO SMALDONE. Prayer to the Saint

O God, come save me
O Lord, make haste to help me
Glory to the Father ...

1. Saint Philip, who with your life and your donation to the poor and deaf, gave us an example of ardent charity and taught us to give ourselves entirely to our brothers and sisters, obtain from God the gift of charity, because, with our daily witness of life, we can expand the boundaries of the Gospel.

2. Saint Philip, who with your priestly virtues gave wonderful testimony of the faith and contributed to the spread of the gospel with the popular missions, with the ministry of reconciliation and with your admirable way of life, obtain for us from the Lord the gift of faith, because, faithful to baptism and always obedient to the sacred Shepherds, we can help to make known Jesus, our savior, and the One who sent him.

3. Saint Philip that, despite the sufferings and persecutions, you have always kept the hope, trust and patience unchanged, giving everyone an example of fervent piety, sacrifice and penance, obtain from the Lord the gift of hope, because we can testify to the Your divine presence and teach the brothers to always walk with the trust and joy of faith.

4. Saint Philip, who throughout your life as a priest and founder of the Salesian Sisters of SS. Hearts, you have given an admirable example of Eucharistic and Marian devotion, obtain from God the grace to recognize the living presence of Jesus in the Sacrament of the Altar and to have a filial devotion to his mother Mary.

Our father, Ave and Gloria
