4 ways to imitate St. Joseph every day

The most important part of devotion to St. Joseph is to imitate his example.
While prayers and devotions are important in honoring St. Joseph, what is more important is to imitate the life and example of Jesus' adoptive father.

In the XNUMXth century book Devotion to Saint Joseph, the author clearly explains this concept.

The most excellent devotion to our patron saints is to imitate their virtues. Strive every day to practice some of those virtues that shone in St. Joseph; for example, conformity to God's holy will.
The book also describes a useful practice that can remind you to imitate St. Joseph.

Father Louis Lalemant, having chosen Saint Joseph as a model of interior life, practiced the following exercises every day in his honor: two in the morning and two in the evening.
1
LISTEN TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
The first was to lift his mind to the heart of St. Joseph and consider how docile he had been to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit. Then, examining his own heart, he humbled himself for his moments of resistance and became animated to follow more faithfully the inspirations of grace.

2
UNIT OF PRAYER AND WORK
The second was to consider with what perfection St. Joseph united the interior life to the occupations of his state of life. Then, reflecting on his own life, he examined whether there were any defects to correct. Father Lalemant achieved with this holy practice a great union with God and knew how to preserve it in the midst of occupations that seemed the most annoying.

3
DEVOTION TO THE VIRGIN MARY
The third was to spiritually unite with St. Joseph as the spouse of the Mother of God; and considering the wonderful lights that the saint had on Mary's virginity and motherhood, he encouraged himself to love this holy patriarch for the sake of his holy wife.

4
WORSHIP THE CHILD CHRIST
The fourth was to represent to himself the deep adoration and paternal services that Saint Joseph had rendered to the Child Jesus: he asked that he be allowed to join him in adoring, loving and serving with the most tender affection and deep veneration.
