4 Truth that every Christian must never forget

There is one thing we can forget that is even more dangerous than forgetting where we put the keys or not remembering to take an important drug. One of the most important things to forget is who we are in Christ.

From the moment we are saved and believe in Christ as our Savior, we have a new identity. The Bible says we are "new creatures" (2 Corinthians 5:17). God is watching us. We have been made holy and blameless through the sacrificial blood of Christ.

Not only that, by faith we entered a new family. We are children of the Father and joint heirs of Christ. We have all the advantages of being part of the family of God. Through Christ, we have full access to our Father. We can come to Him anytime, anywhere.

The problem is that we can forget this identity. As a person with amnesia, we can forget who we are and our place in God's Kingdom. This can leave us spiritually vulnerable. Forgetting who we are in Christ can make us believe the lies of the world and lead us away from the narrow path of life. When we forget how much we are loved by our Father, we look for counterfeit loves and false substitutes. When we don't remember our adoption into God's family, we can wander through life as a lost orphan, hopeless and all alone.

Here are four truths we neither want nor must forget:

  1. Because of Christ's death in our place, we have been reconciled to God and have complete and full access to our Father: "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he he has poured out abundantly upon us, giving us all sorts of wisdom and intelligence ». (Ephesians 1: 7-8)
  2. Through Christ, we have been made perfect and God sees us holy: "For as through the disobedience of one man the many have been made sinners, so by the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:19)
  3. God loves us and has adopted us as his children: “But when the fullness of time came, God sent his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, to receive adoption. to children. 6 And that you are children, the proof is that God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts who cries out: Abba, Father! 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if you are a son, you are also an heir by the will of God ”. (Galatians 4: 4-7)
  4. Nothing can separate us from God's love: "I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, neither present nor future things, nor powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord ”. (Romans 8: 38-39).
