June 5 devotion and prayer of the first Friday of the month to the Sacred Heart

5nd June

Our Father, who art in heaven, may your name be sanctified, your kingdom come, your will be done, as in heaven as on earth. Give us our daily bread today, forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Invocation. - Heart of Jesus, victim of sinners, have mercy on us!

Intention. - Repair blasphemies, scandals and crimes.

THE WOUND OF THE HEART

During the Passion the Body of Jesus was covered with wounds: first with the scourges, then with the crown of thorns and lastly with the nails of the crucifixion. Even after he died, his Sacred Body received another wound, wider and more cruel than the others, but also more significant. The centurion, to make better sure of the death of Jesus, opened his Rib with a spear and pierced the Heart; some blood came out and a few drops of water.

This wound of the Divine Heart was shown to St. Margaret Alacoque, to contemplate and repair it.

In addition to love, devotion to the Sacred Heart is reparation. Jesus himself said it: I seek glory, love, reparation!

What faults can the heart wound mean? Certainly the most serious, those that hurt the good Jesus the most. And these faults must be generously and continuously repaired.

The first sin that horribly wounds the Sacred Heart is the Eucharistic sacrilege: the God of holiness, beauty and love, entering with Communion into an unworthy heart, prey to Satan. And every day on the face of the earth how many sacrilegious Communions are made!

The other sin that opens the wound of the Sacred Side is the blasphemy, the satanic insult that a worm of earth, man, launches against its Creator, the Almighty, the Infinite. Who can count the blasphemies that come out of the mouths of so many unhappy people daily?

Scandal is also one of the most serious sins, because it brings ruin to many souls who suffer the fatal influence. What a painful wound a scandal opens to the Sacred Heart!

The crime, the innocent blood shed, afflicts the Sacred Heart very much. Murder is such a serious fault that it is in the number of four sins that cry out for vengeance in the presence of God. Yet how many crimes the chronicles record! How many fights and injuries! How many children are cut off from life before they see the light of the sun!

Finally, what greatly embitters and pierces the Sacred Heart is the mortal sin committed by those who lived in intimacy with Jesus. Pious souls, frequent at the Eucharistic Table, souls who have tasted the sweetness of Jesus and have sworn allegiance to the King of love ... in a moment of passion, forgetting everything, they commit mortal sin. Ah, what pain for the Sacred Heart the fall of certain souls! ... Jesus mentioned it to Santa Margherita, when he said to her: But what grieves me most is that the hearts consecrated to me also treat me like this! -

Wounds can be healed or at least pain can be mitigated. Jesus, showing the world the wound of his Heart, says: Look how the Heart that loved you so much is reduced! Don't hurt him anymore with new faults! ... And you, my devotees, repair the outraged love! -

A condemnatory reparation that can be done by everyone, even every day, is the offer of Holy Communion to repair the aforementioned sins. This offer is cheap and worth a lot. Just get used to it and say when you communicate: O God, I offer you this Holy Communion to repair your Heart from sacrileges, blasphemies, scandals, crimes and the falls of the souls dearest to you!

A dying mother lived a pretty child in a family; of course he was the idol of his parents. Mum had the most beautiful dreams of her future.

One day the smile of that family changed into tears. To amuse himself, the boy took Father's gun and then went to his mother. The poor woman did not notice the danger. Disgrace wanted a blow to start and Mom was seriously injured in the chest. Surgical remedies slowed the end, but death was inevitable. The dying unhappy, feeling close to leaving the world, asked about her baby and, when she was close, kissed him lovingly.

O woman, how can you still kiss the one who cut off your life?

- … Yes, it's true! ... But he is my son ... and I love him! ... -

Sinful souls, you with your sins have been the cause of Jesus' death. You have mortally wounded, and not only once, his Divine Heart! ... Yet Jesus still loves you; awaits you in penance and opens the door of mercy, which is the wound of his side! Convert and repair!

Foil. Offer all the sufferings of today to console Jesus of the offenses he receives.

Ejaculation. Jesus, forgive the sins of the world!
