December 25 Nativity of Jesus: prayers of Holy Christmas

NATIVITY OF THE LORD

PRAYERS for CHRISTMAS

Come at night,
but in our heart it is always night:
and therefore always come, Lord.

Come in silence,
we no longer know what to say to each other:
and therefore always come, Lord.

Come in solitude,
but each of us is increasingly alone:
and therefore always come, Lord.

Come, son of peace,
we ignore what peace is:
and therefore always come, Lord.

Come free us,
we are more and more slaves:
and therefore always come, Lord.

Come to console us,
we are increasingly sad:
and therefore always come, Lord.

Come look for us,
we are increasingly lost:
and therefore always come, Lord,

Come, You who love us:
nobody is in communion with his brother
if he is not with you before, O Lord.

We are distant, lost,
nor do we know who we are, what we want:
come, Lord,
always come, Lord.

(David Maria Turoldo)

O Ernmanuele, you are the God with us! We adore the God of life, kneel before the crib, contemplate the divine mystery. The ancient promises have come true: this is your faithfulness, O God, this is your love for us. It is Christmas in the world, it is a Christmas of a life of peace and goodness. And Christmas in the heart of all to each its light, to each its star, all together to sing. O Ernmanuele, you are the God with us!

O Jesus, who made you Child to come and seek and call each of us by name, you who come every day and come to us on this night, give us to open our hearts to you.

We want to give you our life, the story of our personal story, because you enlighten it, because you discover the ultimate meaning of all suffering, pain, tears, darkness.

Make the light of your night illuminate and warm our hearts, give us to contemplate you with Mary and Joseph, give peace to our homes, to our families, to our society! Arrange for it to welcome you and rejoice in you and your love.

(Carlo Maria Martini - 24.12.1995)

Come Baby Jesus, come into families, come into our hearts, come to protect the nascent life, come into the hearts of children. With your birth, Baby Jesus, you renewed the family: today every child, every mom and dad come to you with faith and love and they recognize you as King and Savior

Dries, Child Jesus, the tears of the children! caress the sick and the elderly! Push men to lay down their arms and to hug in a universal embrace of peace! Invite the peoples, merciful Jesus, to break down the walls created by misery and unemployment, by ignorance and indifference, by discrimination and intolerance. It is You, Divine Child of Bethlehem, who saves us by freeing us from sin. You are the true and only Savior, whom humanity often gropes for. God of Peace, gift of peace to all humanity, come and live in the heart of every man and every family. Be You our peace and our joy! Amen

DO YOU SING:

YOU COME DOWN FROM THE STARS

1 Thou descend from the stars, O King of heaven,
and come to a cave in the cold and frost,
and come to a cave in the cold and frost.
O my divine Child,

I see you here trembling.
O blessed God!

Ah, how much it cost you to have loved me!
Ah, how much it cost you to love me.

2 To You, who are the Creator of the world,
there are no clothes and fire, my Lord,
clothes and fire are missing, my Lord.
Dear elect, baby boy,
how much this poverty falls in love with me:
for he made you poor love again,
for he made you poor love again

STAR OF THE SKY

1 Star of heaven, pargol divin,
mild lamb redentor.
You who have long dreamed of vati,
you who angelic voices nunziar,
Light gives minds,

peace instill in hearts,
Light gives minds,

peace instill in hearts.

2 Come down from heaven, into the mystical vel,
of silence and mister.
Sublime holy night of love
there are those who watch with anxiety in the heart,
between Giuseppe and Maria

the baby Jesus sleeps,
between Giuseppe and Maria

the baby Jesus sleeps.

(Composed by San Giovanni Bosco :)

Ah! sing in jubilant sound,

Ah! sing in love.

O faithful, the tender was born

Our God Salvator.

Oh how lit every star spends:

The moon appears bright and beautiful

And of darkness I tore the vel.

Seraphic arrays, which the sky unearths

Gridan with jubilation: be peace on earth!

Others answer: glory be in heaven!

Come, come, oh beloved peace,

In our hearts to rest.

O child among us

We want to keep you.
