Gospel of the day: February 25, 2021

Gospel of the day, February 25, 2021 comment by Pope Francis: we must not be ashamed to pray and say: "Lord, I need this", "Lord, I am in this difficulty", "Help me!". It is the cry of the heart towards God who is Father. And we must learn to do it even in happy times; thank God for everything that is given to us, and do not take anything for granted or due: everything is grace.

The Lord always gives us, always, and everything is grace, everything. God's grace. However, let us not stifle the plea that spontaneously arises in us. The prayer of question goes hand in hand with the acceptance of our limitations and our creatures. One may not even come to believe in God, but it is difficult not to believe in prayer: it simply exists; it presents itself to us as a cry; and we all have to deal with this inner voice that may be silent for a long time, but one day it wakes up and screams. Prayer to Jesus for graces

READING OF THE DAY From the book of Esther Est 4,17:XNUMX In those days, Queen Esther sought refuge with the Lord, gripped by mortal anguish. She prostrated herself on the ground with her maids from morning to evening and said: “Blessed are you, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob. Come to the aid of me who am alone and have no other help but you, oh Lord, because a great danger hangs over me. I have heard from the books of my ancestors, Lord, that you free up to the end all those who do your will.

Now, Lord, my God, help me who am alone and have no one but you. Come to the aid of me, who am an orphan, and place a timely word on my lips before the lion, and please him. Turn his heart to hatred against those who fight us, to his ruin and to those who agree with him. As for us, free us from the hand of our enemies, turn our mourning into joy and our sufferings into salvation ».

Gospel of February 25, 2021: from the Gospel according to Matthew, Mt 7,7: 12-XNUMX At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. Because whoever asks receives, and whoever seeks finds, and to whoever knocks it will be opened. Which of you will give a stone to your son who asks for bread? And if he asks for a fish, will he give him a snake? If you, then, who are evil, know how to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! Whatever you want men to do to you, you also do to them: in fact, this is the Law and the Prophets ».
