The situation was critical, the liver was severely damaged and unable to function properly. The only possible path was a liver transplantation. There was no other solution.

On the social page of the Neapolitan parish on 4 September 2022 the attempts carried out are reported: the first attempt took place on 23 June 2020, but without success because the organ was not compatible. The second try, on June 24, 2021, was successful at the Palermo hospital.

Martina underwent the transplant and now, although still affected by the long period of illness, she is gradually recovering returning to a peaceful and happy life, like every child should have. A knot has been untied and the moving witness it was told by the girl's grandparents as a sign of thanks.
