A prayer for your child's faith

A prayer for your child's faith - it's every parent's concern. How does my child continue to trust God when today's culture teaches him to question his faith? I discussed this with my son. His new perspective has given me renewed hope.

“Look what great love the Father has lavished on us, so that we should be called children of God! And that's what we are! The reason the world doesn't know us is that it didn't know him “. (1 John 3: 1)

Our open conversation uncovered three practical things parents can do to help our kids keep faith in an increasingly unfaithful world. Let's learn together how to help our kids stay grounded in unwavering faith, even in the midst of insanity.

It is not about controlling what they see, but about controlling what they see in you. Our kids may not always listen to what we say, but they will absorb every detail of our actions. Do we display Christ-like character at home? Do we treat others with unconditional love and kindness? Do we rely on God's Word in times of trouble?

God designed us to let His light shine. Our children will learn more about what it means to be a follower of Christ by following our example. Listen, even when you fear what they might say.

A prayer for your child's faith: I want my children to feel comfortable when they come to me with their deepest thoughts and biggest fears, but I don't always behave like that. I have to create an atmosphere of trust, a safe place to share the burdens.

When we teach them to talk about God at home, His comforting peace will remain with them as they go about their daily lives. We pray that our home will be a place to praise God and receive His peace. Every day, we invite the Holy Spirit to dwell there. His presence will provide them with that safe place to speak and strength for us to listen.

pray with me: Dear father, thank you for our children. Thank you for loving them even more than us and for calling them from the darkness into your wonderful light. (1 Peter 2: 9) They see a world of confusion. They hear messages that condemn their beliefs. Yet Your Word is more powerful than any negativity that comes their way. Help them keep their faith in You, Lord. Give us the wisdom to guide them as they grow into the powerful men and women you created them to be. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
