Other Christian brothers killed by extremist hatred, what happened

In Indonesia, on the island of Sulawesi, four Christian peasants were murdered by Islamic extremists on the morning of 11 May last.

Three of the victims were members of the Toraja Church - almost one in two of the Toraja ethnic group is Christian - and the fourth was Catholic. One of the victims was beheaded, as reported by Chief Commissioner Didik Supranoto, a spokesman for the Central Sulawesi police force.

"Five eyewitnesses recognized one of the perpetrators as a man named Qatar, who is a member of MIT," the police spokesman said. MITs are i Mujahedin of eastern Indonesia.

Indonesia has been fighting Islamist terrorism for several years. In November 2020, MIT activists attacked a Christian community in Poso, killing four people, with one victim beheaded and another burned alive.

Where the murders took place

As early as 2005, three young Christian girls aged between 16 and 19 were beheaded in the same neighborhood of Poso. Today 87% of Indonesians are Muslims and 10% Christians (7% Protestants, 3% Catholics).

Instead, yesterday we reported the news of another attack against Christians. In eastern Uganda, in fact, a Christian pastor was killed by Muslim extremists after participating in a political debate on Christianity and Islam.

The man had also converted some Muslims to Faith in Christ and, for this, he aroused the ire of extremists and was brutally killed near his home. ALL DETAILS HERE.
