"Angels with one wing"

+ Don Tonino Bello

I want to thank you, Lord, for the gift of life.
I read somewhere that men are angels with only one wing: they can fly only by remaining embraced.
Sometimes in moments of confidence I dare to think, Lord, that you too have only one wing, the other you keep it hidden ... perhaps to make me understand that you don't want to fly without me.
This is why you gave me life, because I was your flight companion.
Then teach me to hover with you because living is not dragging life, it is not tearing it, it is not gnawing it: living is abandoning oneself like a seagull to the thrill of the wind; to live is to savor the adventure of freedom, to live is to spread the wing, the only wing with the confidence of those who know they have a great partner like you in flight.
But it is not enough to know how to fly with You, Lord: You have given me the task of embracing my brother too, and helping him to fly. I ask your forgiveness, therefore, for all the wings that I have not helped to spread: do not let me pass indifferently in front of the brother who has remained with the wing, the only wing, inexorably entangled in the net of misery and loneliness and now convinced that I am no longer worthy to fly with You: above all for this unfortunate brother give me, oh Lord, a spare wing. ♥ ️
