Unfortunately life is sometimes unfair and fate interrupts people's journey in a moment of any day. Francisco Garate and his son Gabriel on a tuesday evening they were headed to the park of Long Beach, California, to go play baseball.

The tragic fate of Gabriel hit by a pickup truck

While Gabriel was crossing the street on the pedestrian crossing it was invested by a pickupat the intersection of Lakewood Boulevard and 23rd Street. The pickup truck driving down the road did not slow down at the sight of pedestrians, nor at the crosswalk signal. He was behind the wheel of the pickup James Burnes a 57-year-old man who said he had not seen the child.

James Burnes remained at the scene of the crash until officers arrived, arrested him for involuntary manslaughter and released him soon after alcohol and drug tests which came back negative.

Little Gabriel died instantly as his father took him in his arms. The motherto Dawne Garate she couldn't even say goodbye. Grief-stricken, she describes Gabriel as a happy, intelligent boy with a great personality.
