4-year-old boy 'plays' at Mass (but takes everything seriously)

The religious vocation of the child Francisco Almeida Gama, 4 years old, is inspiring. While peers play with toy cars and superheroes, Francisco enjoys celebrating the Mass, taking it seriously. He tells it YouYes. com.

The celebration takes place at an improvised altar with liturgical objects in his home, in Araçatuba, in Brazil.

The little one has everything you need: chalice, crucifix, host, etc. All bought by the parents in the shops of religious articles. As told Ana Cristina Gama, Francisco's mother who works as a teacher by profession, the son knows the name of each object and its function.

During the game he reproduces the gestures and prayers of a priest at mass. “There is no shortage of toys. He also plays with it for a while, but then he goes back to mass ”, explained Francisco's mother.

The engineer Alexandre Silva Gama, the baby's father, said that everything is natural and nothing has ever been imposed on his son. “It's not a forced thing, do this, do that. There are things from him that even surprise us every day, ”he explained.

In addition to celebrating mass at home, Francisco participates in church mass. Each week, he and his parents participate in the celebration in the parish of Bom Jesus da Lapa. The child also knows by heart prayers such as the Our Father, the Hail Mary, the Creed, the Guardian Angel's Prayer, the Rosary of Mercy and the Prayer of St. Benedict. Francisco said he knows all this by "the grace of God".

One of the little boy's dreams is to visit the Vatican. For this, he has a piggy bank where he deposits coins to help pay for his trip, sooner or later. He's also already chosen the theme for this year's birthday party: Jesus. He wants a photo of St. Michael as a gift and wants to ask guests to donate food to families in need instead of giving it away.
