The family home business and false aid

 

I published this article today to testify to my negative experience a few days ago to help a homeless person.

I want to make a small premise. A few months ago I went to Bologna to a religious community called "Eremiti con San Francesco" and in that place I met a homeless man named Romano. The boy is 47 years old and throughout his life he has always worked, only it happened that four years ago he lost his job and therefore not having a home and a family he was forced to live on the street.

The situation of this boy touched me a lot and not being able to host him in my house since I don't live alone but with my parents when I returned to my city I contacted some well-known communities in Italy to help people who have been less lucky for us.

I called some well-known communities in Italy and other lesser-known organizations but none of them was able to host this boy who currently lives on the street as of May 1, 2016.

I was told that they help those with neurological problems, the elderly, children, drug addicts, foreigners who have political asylum but for the homeless Italians there is nothing to do.
The situation is simple given that the Italian state for homeless people does not finance anything. It finances family homes for children, foreigners, drug addicts and then those with some handicaps and the elderly already predict a state pension and therefore they can self-finance.

What hurts me the most and that these communities ask for financial help from the state, from private individuals as a donation, to help people but in reality they are getting wider and wider and they only build beautiful and hospitable structures but not to accommodate those who live on the street and die of hunger but only people who guarantee him a certain income.

This article in addition to describing my negative experience wants to urge the state to insert a law that also protects these people who for one reason or another find themselves without anything and then send a message to these communities that define themselves as Christians leaving behind in real message of Jesus Christ.
