How to pray to the Blessed Virgin to ask her to recover from an illness

Below is a prayer to recite when we are afflicted by an illness, to be addressed to the Blessed Virgin.

O good Mother,
whose soul was pierced by the sword of pain,
watch us while,
in our disease,
we place ourselves next to you
on Calvary where your Jesus hangs.

Endowed with the high grace of suffering,
and hoping to realize in our flesh
what is lacking in our sharing of the passion of Christ,
in the name of his Mystical Body, the Church,
to you we consecrate ourselves and our pain.

We pray you will put them on
on that Altar of the Cross on which Jesus is affixed.
May they be little victims of propitiation for our salvation,
for the salvation of all peoples.

O Sorrowful Mother,
accept this consecration.
Strengthen our hearts full of hope,
than as you share in the sufferings of Christ
we can also share his comfort now and forever.
