In 1917 three little shepherds, Lucia, Jacinta e Francesco, reported having spoken with the Virgin Mary a Fatima, in which She revealed to them secrets that were confused at the time but were later confirmed by world events. Lucia later wrote down what she saw and heard.
FIRST SECRET - VISION OF HELL
“Our Lady showed us a great sea of fire which appeared to be underground. Immersed in this fire were demons and souls in human form, like transparent glowing embers, all blackened and burnished, floating in the fire, lifted into the air by the flames that came out of them along with great clouds of smoke. There were screams and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fear. The demons were distinguished by their terrifying and repulsive resemblance to frightening and unknown animals, all black and transparent. This vision lasted only an instant ”.
Our Lady then spoke to them and explained that devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was a means to save souls from going to Hell: “You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wants to establish devotion to my Immaculate Heart in the world. If what I tell you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace ”.
SECOND SECRET - THE FIRST AND SECOND WORLD WAR
"The war is about to end: but if people do not stop offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illuminated by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign that God has given you that he is going to punish the world for its crimes, through wars, famines and persecutions of the Church and the Holy Father. To prevent this, I will come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the reparative Communion on the first Saturdays ”.

THIRD SECRET - ATTACK ON THE POPE
