CROWN OF MYSTERIES OF THE SACRED HEART

This triple crown is an act of love for the Heart of Jesus. It helps us to contemplate it in the mysteries of the incarnation, redemption and the Eucharist. They express, first of all, the fire of God's love for us, the new fire that the Heart of Jesus has come to communicate to us. We ask Christ Jesus that this contemplation takes place with the sentiments of his Heart for the Father and for men (Father L Dehon).

Jesus says: “I have come to bring fire to the earth; and how I wish it was already on! " (Lk 12,49:XNUMX).

Initial praise: "The Lamb who was immolated is worthy of receiving power and wealth, wisdom and strength, honor, glory and blessing" (Rev 5,12:XNUMX). We bless you, Heart of Jesus, we glorify you united with the perennial praise of heaven, we give you thanks with all the angels and saints, we love you together with Mary most holy and St. Joseph, her husband. We offer you our heart. Deign to welcome it, fill it with your love and make it an offer acceptable to the Father. Inflame us with your Spirit because we can worthily praise your name and announce your salvation to the people. In a prodigy of love you have redeemed us with your precious blood. Heart of Jesus, we entrust ourselves to your perennial mercy. Our hope in you: we will not be confused forever.

Now the mysteries are proclaimed, as per the formulation given, choosing a single mystery or the most suitable crown of mysteries according to the days. After each mystery it is good to do some reflection and silence.

Al tennine: Lord Jesus, welcome the offer of ourselves and present us to the Father in union with your love offering, in reparation for our sins and those of the whole world. Give us to have the feelings of your Heart in us, to imitate its virtues and receive its graces. You who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

THE MYSTERIES OF THE INCARNATION

First mystery: the Heart of Jesus in the incarnation.

"Entering the world, Christ says:" You did not want, Father, sacrifice or offering, a body instead you prepared me. You did not like burnt offerings or sacrifices for sin. Then I said: Behold, I am coming because of me it is written in the scroll of the book to do, O God, your will "... And it is precisely for that will that we have been sanctified, through the offering of the body of Christ, made once and for all "(Heb 10, 57.10).

By speaking the Ecce venio, the Heart of Jesus has offered us as well and continues to offer us.

Heart of Jesus, Son of the eternal Father, have mercy on us.

Let us pray to Lord Jesus, grant us to live in the spirit of the Ecce venio that has characterized your whole life. We offer you prayer and work, apostolic commitment, suffering and joy, in a spirit of love and reparation, so that your kingdom may come in souls and in society. Amen.

Second mystery: the Heart of Jesus in birth and childhood

“Here I announce to you a great joy, which will be of all the people: today a savior, who is Christ the Lord, was born in the city of David. This is the sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger "(Lc 2,1012).

Approach in peace and confidence. The Heart of God is open for us in the Heart of Jesus. Communion in the mystery of Bethlehem is a union of trust and love.

Heart of Jesus, please of the Father, have mercy on us.

Let us pray to the holy and merciful Father, that you may take pleasure in the humble and perform in them through your Spirit the wonders of salvation, look at the innocence and smallness of your Son made man, and give us a simple and mild heart, which like his know how to consent without hesitation to every sign of your will. For Christ our Lord. Amen.

Third mystery: the Heart of Jesus in the life hidden in Názareth

"And he replied," Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know that I have to take care of the things of my Father? ". But they did not understand his words. So he left with them and went back to Nazareth and was subject to them. Her mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom, age and grace before God and men "(Lk 2,4952).

Life hidden in God is the principle of the most intimate and perfect union. The heart offering, the oblation, par excellence.

Heart of Jesus, holy temple of God, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Lord Jesus, to do all justice in you, you made yourself obedient to Mary and Joseph. Through their intercession, make of our obedience an act of oblation that shapes our life to yours, for the redemption of the world and the joy of the Father. Amen.

Fourth mystery: the Heart of Jesus in public life

“Jesus went around all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and treating every disease and infirmity. Seeing the crowds, he felt sorry for them, because they were tired and exhausted, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples: “The harvest is great but the workers are few! So pray to the Master of the harvest to send workers into his harvest! Turn to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. For free you have received, freely give "(Mt 9, 3538; 10, 6.8).

Public life is the external expansion of the intimate life of the Heart of Jesus. Jesus was the first missionary of his Heart. The Gospel is, like the Eucharist, the sacrament of the Heart of Jesus.

Heart of Jesus, king and center of all hearts, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Father, who in your providence has called man and woman to cooperate in the work of salvation so that, in the spirit of the beatitudes and in filial abandonment to your will, we live faithful to the work and responsibilities that you entrust to us for to be totally dedicated to the service of your kingdom. Amen.

Fifth mystery: The Heart of Jesus friend of sinners and doctor of the sick

“While Jesus sat in the cafeteria in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat at the table with him and his disciples. Seeing this, the Pharisees said to his disciples: "Why does your master eat together with the publicans and sinners?" Jesus heard them and said: “It is not the healthy who need the doctor, but the sick. So go and learn what it means: Mercy I want and not sacrifice. In fact, I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners "(Mt 9,1013).

There is no physical suffering or moral torture, there is no sadness, bitterness or fear in which the compassionate Heart of Jesus has not taken part; he took part in all our miseries except sin, and shared responsibility for sin.

Heart of Jesus, full of goodness and love, have mercy on us.

Let us pray to Father, that you wanted your poor, chaste and obedient Son to be totally given to you and to men, make us conform to the oblation he offered you in every moment of his life, because we are prophets of love and servants of reconciliation of men and of the world for the advent of a new humanity in Christ Jesus, who lives and reigns with you forever and ever. Amen.

MYSTERIES OF PASSION

First mystery: The Heart of Jesus in the agony of Gethsemane

"Then Jesus went with them to a farm called Gethsemane and said to the disciples," Sit here while I go there to pray. " And taking Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with him, he began to feel sadness and anguish. He said to them: “My soul is sad to the death; stay here and watch with me. " And advancing a little, he prostrated himself with his face on the ground and prayed saying: “My father, if possible, pass this cup to me! But not as I want, but as you want! " (Mt 26, 3639).

“The mystery of agony is in a particular way the patrimony of the friends of the Heart of Jesus. In agony Jesus wanted to accept and offer to the Father all his sufferings for our love.

Heart of Jesus, propitiation of our sins, have mercy on us.

Let us pray to Father, you wanted your Son Jesus to suffer agony; come to help those who are in the trial. Break the chains that hold us prisoners because of our sins, guide us to the freedom that Christ has conquered us and make us humble collaborators of your loving plan. For Christ our Lord. Amen.

Second mystery: the Heart of Jesus crushed for our iniquities

“Stripping him, they put a scarlet cloak over him and, woven a crown of thorns, they placed it on his head, with a cane in his right; then as they knelt before him, they mocked him: "Hail, king of the Jews!". And spitting on him, they took the cane from him and beat him on the head. After mocking him, they stripped him of his cloak, made him put on his clothes and took him away to crucify him "(Mt 27, 2831).

Passion is the masterpiece of the love of the Heart of Christ. Let's not be satisfied with external meditation. If we penetrate to the heart, we will see an even greater wonder: infinite love.

Heart of Jesus, torn by our sins, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Father, you have delivered your Son to the passion and death for our salvation. Open our eyes because we see the evil committed, touch our heart because we convert to you and, having known your mystery of love, we generously spend our lives in the service of the gospel. For Christ our Lord. Amen.

Third mystery: the Heart of Jesus betrayed by friends and abandoned by the Father.

“At that same moment Jesus said to the crowd:“ You went out as against a brigand, with swords and sticks, to capture me. Every day I was sitting in the temple teaching, and you didn't arrest me. But all this happened because the scriptures of the prophets were fulfilled. " Then all the disciples, abandoning him, fled. From noon until three in the afternoon it got dark all over the earth. About three o'clock, Jesus cried out in a loud voice: "Eli, Eli, lemà sabactàni?", Which means: "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?" (Mt 26, 5556; 27,4546).

Raised on the cross, Jesus saw only enemies before him; he heard only curses and blasphemies: the chosen people reject and crucify the Savior!

Heart of Jesus, obedient to death, pity us.

We pray: Father, who asks us to follow Jesus on the way of the cross, give us to be baptized in his death, so that we can walk with him in a new life and be instruments of your love for the brothers. For Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fourth mystery: The Heart of Jesus pierced by the spear

“So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and then the other who had been crucified with him. However, when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs, but one of the soldiers opened his side with the spear and immediately blood and water came out. Whoever has seen bears witness to it and his testimony is true and he knows he is telling the truth, so that you too may believe. This indeed happened because the Scripture was fulfilled: No bones will be broken. And another passage of the Scripture says again: They will turn their gaze on the one they have pierced "(Jn 19, 3237).

What would Jesus' oblation be, his life, his immolation on the cross, his own death, if they did not draw their sap from the Heart of Jesus? Here is the great mystery of love, the source and channel of all graces, the immolation achieved.

Heart of Jesus pierced by the spear, have mercy on us.

We pray: Lord Jesus Christ, who with your obedient death free us from sin and recreate us according to God in true justice and holiness, give us the grace to live our reparatory vocation as the stimulus of our apostolate, to work with you to remove everything that hurts the dignity of man and threatens the truth, peace and fraternity of human coexistence. Amen.

Fifth mystery: The Heart of Jesus in the resurrection.

"On the evening of the same day, the first after Saturday, while the doors of the place where the disciples were located were closed, Jesus came, stopped in their midst and said:" Peace be with you! ". Having said this he showed them his hands and his side ... Thomas, one of the Twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples then said to him: "We have seen the Lord". But he said to them: "If I do not see the sign of the nails in his hands and do not put my finger in the place of the nails and do not put my hand in his side, I will not believe". Eight days later Jesus came ... and said to Thomas: “Put your finger here and look at my hands; stretch out your hand, and put it in my side; and no longer be incredulous, but a believer. " Thomas replied: "My Lord and my God!" (Jn 20, 1928).

Jesus allows the apostles to touch the wound on his side to draw attention to his heart wounded with love. Now he is in the sanctuary of heaven to be a priest before the Father and to offer himself in our favor (cf Heb 9,2426).

Heart of Jesus, source of life and holiness, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Father, who with the resurrection constituted Christ Jesus the only mediator of salvation, send upon us your holy Spirit who purifies our hearts and transforms us into a sacrifice pleasing to you; in the joy of a new life we will always praise your name and be instruments of your love for brothers. For Christ our Lord. Amen.

MYSTERIES OF THE EUCHARIST

First mystery: The Heart of Jesus worthy of infinite love.

"Jesus said:" I ardently desired to eat this Easter with you, before my passion. " Then, taking a loaf, he gave thanks, broke it and gave it to them saying: “This is my body which is given for you; Do this in memory of me". In the same way, after having dinner, he took the cup saying: "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you" (Lk 22, 15.1920).

Throughout his life Jesus was hungry and thirsty for this Easter. The Eucharist became the source of all the gifts of his heart.

Heart of Jesus, ardent furnace of charity, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Lord Jesus, who offered the Father the sacrifice of the new covenant, purifies our hearts and renews our life, because in the Eucharist we can taste your sweet presence and for your love we know how to spend ourselves on the gospel. Amen.

Second mystery: The Heart of Jesus present in the Eucharist

“Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant ... And since he remains forever, he has a priesthood that does not set. Therefore he can perfectly save those who through him draw near to God, being he always alive to intercede in their favor ... In fact we do not have a high priest who does not know how to pity our infirmities, having himself been tried in all things, in resemblance of us, excluding sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with full confidence, to receive mercy and find grace and be helped at the right moment "(Heb 7,2225; 4, 1516).

In the Eucharistic life all external activity is ceased: here the life of the heart remains without interruption, without distraction. The Heart of Jesus is absorbed entirely in praying for us.

Heart of Jesus, rich for those who invoke you, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Lord Jesus, who lives in the Eucharist in perpetual intercession for us, unite our life with your continuous oblation of love, so that no one will be lost by how many the Father has entrusted to you. Grant your Church to watch in prayer and availability to accomplish what your passion lacks in it, in favor of all humanity. You who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Third mystery: The Heart of Jesus, a living sacrifice.

“Verily, verily, I say to you, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you will not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life and I will raise him up on the last day. Because my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I in him. As the Father who has life sent me and I live for the Father, so also whoever eats me will live for me "(Jn 6, 5357).

The Eucharist in a certain way renews the mysteries of passion. St. Paul wrote: "Every time you eat of this bread and drink of this cup, you announce the death of the Lord until he comes" (1 Cor 11,26:XNUMX).

Heart of Jesus, source of justice and love, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Lord Jesus, who submitted in love to the Father's will to the total gift of your life, grant that by your example and by your grace we can offer the sacrifice of ourselves to God and to our brothers and sisters and unite in more firmly to your will of salvation. We ask you that you live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Fourth mystery: the Heart of Jesus rejected in his love.

“Does not the cup of blessing that we bless communion with the blood of Christ? And isn't the bread that we break, a communion with the body of Christ? Since there is only one bread, we, although many, are one body: in fact we all participate in the one bread ... You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot participate in the table of the Lord and in the table of demons. Or do we want to provoke the jealousy of the Lord? Are we stronger than him? " (1Cor 10, 1617, 2122)

The Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist is the only and true repairer and is, at the same time, capable of loving and giving thanks. We associate with him for this great task of reparation: his love will transform our actions into acts of love, as he has transformed water into wine in Cana.

Heart of Jesus, peace and reconciliation, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Father, who in the Eucharist you make us taste the saving presence of your Christ, do that by paying him the homage of our faith, we also fulfill the duty of a just reparation. For Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fifth mystery: In the Heart of Jesus to the glory of the Father.

"And they said in a loud voice:" The Lamb who was immolated is worthy of receiving power and wealth, wisdom and strength, honor, glory and blessing. " All the creatures of heaven and earth, underground and in the sea and all the things contained therein, I heard that they said: "To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb praise, honor, glory and power, for ever and ever" "( Rev 5, 1213).

We must live only from the Heart of Jesus, and the Heart of Jesus is only sweetness and mercy. Our only desire will be to become the living Eucharist of the Heart of Jesus as this divine Heart is our Eucharist.

Heart of Jesus, worthy of all praise, have mercy on us.

Let us pray: Father, for your glory and for our salvation, you have made Christ your Son high and eternal priest; grant also to us, who have become your priestly people through his blood, to join us in his perennial Eucharist to make our whole life an oblation of thanks to your name. For Christ our Lord. Amen.

ACT OF CONSECRATION

by S. Margherita M. Alacoque

I (name and surname), I give and consecrate my person and my life, my actions, pains and sufferings to the adorable Heart of Jesus Christ, so as not to want to use any part of my being anymore, than to honor him, love him and glorify it. this is my irrevocable will: to be all his and do everything for his love, giving up from the heart all that might displease him. I choose you, O Sacred Heart, as the only object of my love, as guardian of my life, pledge of my salvation, remedy for my fragility and inconstancy, repairer of all the faults of my life and safe haven in the hour of my death. Loving heart, I place all my trust in you, because I fear everything from my malice and weakness, but I hope everything from your goodness. Consume, therefore, in me what can displease or resist you; your pure love is deeply impressed in my heart, so that it can no longer forget you or be separated from you. For your goodness, I ask you that my name be written in you, because I want to concretize all my happiness and glory in living and dying as your servant. Loving heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you, because I fear everything from my weakness, but I hope everything from your goodness.

NOVENA AT THE SACRED HEART

through the intercession of Father Dehon

1. Divine heart of Jesus, from that Christmas of the College in which for the first time you made your servant Father Dehon, still a boy, hear his call to the priesthood, he had no other desire in life than to be yours, to spend the his life for you. For the good that willed you, Lord, make me too have you as the ideal of my life and work and sacrifice me with you and for you. Glory to the Father ...

2. It was not easy, Jesus, for your servant to become a priest. At home there was a decided refusal. He could have everything: lawyer, engineer, magistrate, parliamentarian, everything; but not a priest. He became a lawyer, but then, as soon as he was of age, he told his parents that his way was always and only the priesthood, and he became a seminarian, and wept at the first Mass. Lord, remember these tears, that emotion. May I attend Mass with those provisions. May I see your servant glorified on the altars. May his prayer obtain peace for me, health in my family. Glory to the Father ...

3. Wasn't it you, Lord, who drew Father Dehon to your heart? And the more you attracted him, the more he asked you what I wanted him to do for you. One day you told him: you wanted him available and you wanted an Institute of available. Lord, you know that it is not easy to do your will, it is not easy to love a Crucified God. Father Dehon was faithful to his commitment. And me? Lord, I believe, but you increase my faith. I love you, but you increase my love. Yes, Lord, this is the particular grace that I ask of you for the love of your servant Father Dehon, for the merits of his priesthood. Glory to the Father.

FOR THE CONVERSION OF THE HEART

prayer of Father Dehon

Jesus, you are so good in warning me, in following me, in humiliating me! May I not resist your grace, as Simon did the Pharisee, and convert me like the Magdalene. My Jesus, give me generosity in denying myself, so that mine is not an imperfect conversion and does not fall into past shortcomings. Give me the grace to love the sacrifice and to correspond to all the sacrifices that you ask me. Jesus, prostrate at your feet, let me tell you that I am confused and love you. I do not ask you for the sweetness of the tears of repentance, but the true and loving repentance of a heart that feels that it has offended you and remains grieved by it for life. Amen.
