In the First Pain we contemplate
Most Holy Mary who presents the infant Jesus to the Temple and meets the old saint Simeon who prophesies the "sword" of pain.
Most Holy Mary offers Jesus to God the Father, offers the pure, holy and immaculate Victim, and with Him offers herself, called to be the universal Coredemptrix: for this Jesus will be the crucified Victim and you will have your soul pierced by the "sword" of pain for all the sins of the world. In the Second Pain we contemplate
Most Holy Mary who flees to Egypt to save baby Jesus from death.
Mary Most Holy flees into exile with St. Joseph to save the life of the infant Jesus threatened with death. The drama of pain of the exile of Mary Most Holy is grace of support for all of us "exiled children of Eve" called, from this land of exile, to the homeland of heaven, to whom we can reach by the way of the Cross, supported and comforted by her. . In the Third Pain we contemplate
Most Holy Mary in search of Jesus found in the Temple in Jerusalem.
Mary Most Holy suffers a terrible anguish for the loss of Jesus in Jerusalem. For three days she searches for the Son, and finds him in the Temple. To lose Jesus, to lose Jesus: it is the greatest misfortune that can happen to us, because only He is the Way, the Truth and the Life; therefore one must immediately search for it and find it in the Temple, in the House of the Lord, approaching the Sacraments of Confession and Communion. In the Fourth Pain we contemplate
Most Holy Mary who meets the Son Jesus on the way to Calvary.
Mary Most Holy meets Jesus on the road to Calvary and follows the painful journey with him to Golgotha, carrying the Cross of Jesus in his heart like a "sword" which penetrates ever more deeply into his soul for the redemption of sinful humanity. With Mary Addolorata we also follow Jesus carrying the Cross of our salvation. Our Father and seven Hail Marys.

In the Fifth Pain we contemplate
Maria SS Addolorata present on Calvary at the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus.
Maria Santissinia Addolorata is present at the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus and suffers in her Mother's heart all the torments of the body of Jesus nailed to the cross, watered with gall, transfixed to the side. Here the "sword" of pain has pierced the whole soul of Mary, but she has always offered everything united to the Redeemer Son as the universal Coredemptrix of salvation. In the Sixth Pain we contemplate
Maria SS Addolorata who receives Jesus taken from the Cross in her arms.
Most Holy Mary receives Jesus deposed from the cross in her arms. This is the image of pity. But it is also the image of the priestly motherhood of the universal Coredemptrix who offers the Father the divine Victim, host of salvation for all men of all times and places. O merciful Mother, hold us also in your arms to offer us to God. Our Father and seven Hail Marys.

In the Seventh Pain we contemplate
Most Holy Mary who lays Jesus dead in the sepulcher.
Most Holy Mary lays the body of Jesus in the sepulcher to await her resurrection with unwavering faith. The sepulcher of Jesus is a sepulcher of life and glory, and so it will be of the sepulcher of every redeemed who welcomes the Redeemer, while the sepulcher of those who reject Christ will be the sepulcher of eternal perdition. Sorrowful Mother, lay us also in the sepulcher of Jesus to resurrect a day like him to eternal life. Our Father and seven Hail Marys.
