What is Christmas? Celebration of Jesus or pagan rite?

The question we ask ourselves today goes beyond a simple theoretical disquisition, this is not the central issue. But we want to enter into the thoughts that unite each of us. How much does the celebration of Christmas represent for us the birth of Christ and not a so-called pagan event?

Jesus in the heart or in the decorations?

Decorate the house, go Christmas shopping, visit the Christmas fairs, write the letters a Santa Claus, preparing good meals, coloring them, planning the days of holidays, are all recreational activities that portray moments of joy, of serenity in a frenetic context and rarely attentive to affections. But how much is all this done to prepare to remember the birth of Christ, to celebrate the most important event for humanity?

Just a hint of paganism: for us Christians, paganism is anything that is not based on the Bible, or by definition, a pagan is someone who has religious beliefs different from those of the main religions of the world, therefore anyone outside their own system. of beliefs is considered pagan.

Even those who do not believe in Jesus celebrate Christmas, just like we do. What does this mean?

THEApostle Paul however he taught us to live with the differences that we all have (Rm 14). He knew we all have different backgrounds, parenting styles, skills, abilities and belief systems, but we all agree on the main things; the divinity of Christ, His sinless perfection, and that He is returning again to judge the world in righteousness. A person is saved only by faith in Christ alone, and his salvation is not affected because he does not understand everything. For one person something may not be a sin, but for another it may be, as the Apostle said.

Some of the things the apostles wore were also worn and used by pagan priests in their worship as well.

What makes the difference is the heart, where is your heart? Who is it aimed at? What are you thinking about while decorating your home, as you prepare to celebrate Christmas?
