Grow in the most difficult Christian bliss to desire

for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
... because they will be comforted.
... because they will inherit the earth.
... because they will be satisfied.
... because he will be shown mercy.
... because they will see God.
... because they will be called children of God.
... because theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
... for your reward it will be great in heaven.
(See Matthew 5)

Listed below are all the benefits of living the Beatitudes. Read them slowly and in prayer. Do you want these good fruits? These awards of the Beatitudes? Of course you do! It is a good spiritual practice to start with the reward, the effect of something, and to grow the desire for that reward. The same goes for sin. It is a good practice, especially when you are struggling with a habitual sin, to start with the effect of that sin (the negative effect) and ask yourself if you want it or not.

But today we have the Beatitudes. And while we meditate on the fruits of the Beatitudes, we cannot help but conclude that we deeply desire them. This is a good and healthy achievement to be achieved.

From there, we just need to add one more step. Once concluded, with deep conviction, that we desire the fruits of the Beatitudes, we only need to add the first step. We insert bliss into this desire so that we can understand and believe that bliss is good and eager. But what about the Beatitudes? Wishes …

Being poor in spirit,
To mourn,
be meek,
hunger and thirst for justice,
be merciful,
to be pure in heart,
be a peacemaker,
accept the persecution for the sake of justice,
and to be insulted and persecuted and to have all kinds of evil falsely reported on you because of Jesus?

Hmmm, maybe or maybe not. Some seem eager while others seem burdensome. But if these Beatitudes are adequately understood in the context of their fruits (i.e. the blessings they produce), then our desire for means for that good fruit (Bliss) should also grow.

Perhaps today you can see which bliss is more difficult to desire. Once found, look at the fruit it produces and spend time looking at that Bliss in that context. It will help you grow in bliss!

Lord, help me to make myself humble and mild, pure of heart and merciful, a peacemaker and one who accepts any persecution that comes towards me. Help me to receive everything with joy and with a desire for your kingdom. Jesus I believe in you.
