Christ the Pontiff is our propitiation

Once a year the high priest, leaving the people out, enters the place where the mercy seat is with the cherubs on it. Enter the place where there is the Ark of the Covenant and the altar of incense. No one is allowed to enter there except the Pontiff.
Now if I consider that my true Pontiff, the Lord Jesus Christ, living in the flesh, during the whole "year was with the people, that" year, of which he himself says: The Lord sent me to preach the good news to the poor, to promulgate a year of the Lord's grace and the day of remission (cf. Lk 4, 18-19) I notice that only once in this year, that is, on the day of atonement, does he enter the holy of holies, which it means that, having accomplished his task, he enters the heavens and places himself before the Father to make him propitious to mankind, and to pray for all those who believe in him.
Knowing this propitiation of his with which he makes the Father benevolent towards men, the apostle John says: This I say, my little children, because we do not sin. But even if we have fallen into sin, we have an advocate with the Father, the just Jesus Christ, and he himself is the propitiator for our sins (cf. 1 Jn 2: 1).
But even Paul recalls this propitiation when he says of Christ: God placed him as a propitiatory in his blood by faith (cf. Rom 3:25). Therefore the day of propitiation will last for us until the world ends.
The divine word says: And he will impose incense on the fire before the Lord, and the smoke of the incense will cover the mercy seat which is above the ark of the covenant, and he will not die, and he will take of the blood of the calf, and with his finger will spread it on the mercy seat on the eastern side (cf. Lv 16, 12-14).
He taught the ancient Hebrews how to celebrate the rite of propitiation for men, which was done to God. But you who came from the true Pontiff, from Christ, who with his blood made you propitious God and reconciled you with the Father, did not stop at the blood of the flesh, but learn instead to know the blood of the Word, and listen to him who says to you: "This is my blood of the covenant, shed for many, for the remission of sins" (Mt 26:28).
It does not seem nonsense to you that it is scattered on the eastern side. The propitiation came to you from the east. In fact, from there is the personage who has the name of the Orient, and who has become the mediator of God and men. You are therefore invited for this to always look to the east, from where for you the sun of justice rises, from where for you the light always comes, so that you never have to walk in darkness, nor that last day surprise you in darkness. So that the night and the darkness of ignorance don't sneak up on you; so that you may always find yourself in the light of knowledge, and in the bright day of faith and always obtain the light of charity and peace.
