In Cuba the situation is worsening for Christians, what is happening

A lJuly, exasperated by the shortage of food, medicine and the spread of Covid-19 in the country, Cubans of all bands they took to the streets. Including Christians and even evangelical pastors. 4 of them were arrested, one of whom is still detained. Symptomatic stops of a deteriorating situation. He writes it PortesOuvertes.fr.

Yeremi Blanco Ramirez, Yarian Sierra Madrigal e Yusniel Perez Montajo they have been released. Arrested during the protests that shook the island on 11 July, these 3 Baptist shepherds were stopped by the authorities without being able to communicate with their family. It was Yusniel who was first released. On July 24, Yeremi and Yarian managed to reunite with their loved ones. This is good news for Christians who cared about them. But although free, the charges against them have not been dropped.

Although Yarian was able to find his wife and child, he was unable to return home: on July 18, while he was still in prison, his family was kicked out of their quarters. Their owner had succumbed to threats from the security services. Yarian and his family are currently staying in a church.

Meanwhile, another pastor is still behind bars. Lorenzo Rosales Fajardo is locked up in one prison in Santiago de Cuba. His family did not hear from him and his wife was not allowed to visit him.

The arrest of these Christians amounts to persecution: these pastors were only filming the demonstrations and nothing justified their imprisonment.

The situation is deteriorating for Christians in Cuba. 4 days before the demonstrations, Christian leaders called a day of fasting and prayer for the country. Magazine Christians Today deplores: "Church leaders, regardless of their denomination, report that they are increasingly observed, questioned and threatened."

Mario Felix Leonart Barrosso, Cuban pastor exiled to the United States, explains that the government is conducting a "reorganization" campaign against churches. Which means it tries to keep them under the control of the Communist Party.
