Devotion: how to love God following the example of Our Lady

THE LOVING SOUL, WITH IMMACULATE MARY

1. Mary's ardent love. The sigh of the Saints is to love God, it is to complain about one's inability to love God. Mary alone, say the Saints, was able to fulfill the precept on earth to love God with all her heart, with all her strength. God, always God, only God, wanted, sought, loved the Heart of Mary, palpitated only for God; young girl consecrated herself to him, an adult sacrificed herself for love of him. What reproach for your coldness!

2. Mary's active love. It was not enough for her to give God the affection of the Heart: with the virtues and the works, she felt the sincerity of her Love. Wasn't Mary's life a fabric of the most chosen virtues? Admire humility in front of His immense greatness, faith in the words of the Angel, confidence in the time of trials, patience, silence, forgiveness in insults, resignation, purity, fervor! Had I the hundredth part of so much virtue!

3. The loving soul, with Mary. What a confusion it is for us to live so languid in the love of God! Our heart feels the need for God, knows the vanity of the earth ... Why don't we turn to the One who alone can fill the emptiness of the heart? But, what's the use of saying; My God. I love you, and do not practice humility, patience and other virtues, which are proofs of our sincere love of God? Today, with Mary, let us warm up with true and persevering love.

PRACTICE. - Recite three Pater and Ave to the three Hearts of Jesus, Joseph and Mary; spends the day in fervor.
