Devotion to Easter: prayer for Lent!

Devotion to Easter: Lord God Almighty, Shaper and ruler of all creatures, we pray for your great mercy, to guide us towards you, because we cannot find our way. And guide us to your will, to the need of our soul, because we cannot do it alone. And make our mind firm in your will and aware of the need of our soul.

Strengthen us against the temptations of the devil and remove all lust and injustice from us and protect us from our enemies, visible and invisible. Teach us to do your will, so that we can love you internally first of all with a pure mind. Because you are ours Creator and our redeemer, our help, our comfort, our trust, our hope; ships e glory to you now and forever.

O Christ, Son of God, for our sake you fasted forty days and allowed yourself to be tempted. Protect us so that we cannot be misled by any temptation. Since man does not live on bread alone, he feeds our souls with the heavenly food of your Word; by your mercy, O our God, you are blessed and live and rule all things, now and forever. Lord God, Heavenly Father, you know that we find ourselves in the midst of many and great dangers, that due to the fragility of our nature we cannot always stand up: grant us so much strength and protection, to support us in every danger and guide us through all temptations; for your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

In this period of Lent, we are reminded of our difficulties and struggles. Sometimes the street felt too dark. Sometimes we feel like our lives have been marked by such pain and pain, we don't see how our circumstances can ever change. But in the midst of our weakness, we ask you to be strong for us. Lord, rise within us, let your Spirit shine from every broken place we have passed through. Allow your power to manifest through our weakness, so that others recognize that you are working on our behalf. We ask you to exchange the ashes of our lives for the beauty of yours Presence. Exchange our mourning and our pain with the oil of joy and gladness of your Spirit. I hope you enjoyed this Easter Devotion.
