Devotion to the Holy Pope John Paul II: prayer to implore favors

Wadowice, Krakow, May 18, 1920 - Vatican, April 2, 2005 (Pope from 22/10/1978 to 02/04/2005).

Born in Wadovice, Poland, he is the first Slavic pope and the first non-Italian pope since the time of Hadrian VI. On 13 May 1981, in St. Peter's Square, the anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, he was seriously injured with a pistol shot by the Turkish Ali Agca. Interreligious and ecumenical dialogue, defense of peace, and of human dignity are daily commitments of his apostolic and pastoral ministry. From his numerous travels in the five continents his passion for the Gospel and for the freedom of peoples emerges. Everywhere messages, impressive liturgies, unforgettable gestures: from the meeting in Assisi with religious leaders from all over the world to prayers at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. His beatification takes place in Rome on May 1, 2011.

Prayer to implore favors through
THE INTERCESSION OF THE BLESSED JOHN PAUL II, POPE

O Holy Trinity, we thank you for giving
Blessed John Paul II to the Church
and for making tenderness shine in him
of your fatherhood, the glory of the Cross
of Christ and the splendor of the Spirit

your infinite mercy and in maternal intercession
of Mary, gave us an image
live of Jesus the Good Shepherd and he has shown us
holiness as a high measure of life
ordinary Christian which way to reach
eternal communion with you. grant,
by his intercession, according to your will,
the grace that we implore, in hope
that he is soon numbered
of your saints. Amen.

PRAYER TO JOHN PAUL II

O our beloved father John Paul II
help us to love the Church with it
joy and intensity with which you loved her in life.
Fortified by the example of Christian life
that you gave us by guiding the Holy Church
as successor to Peter
let us also renew ours
"Totus tuus" to Maria who lovingly
he will lead us to his beloved Son Jesus

THANKSGIVING PRAYER TO GOD

FOR THE GIFT OF JOHN PAUL II

I thank you, God the Father,
for the gift of John Paul II.
His "Do not be afraid: open the doors to Christ"
opened the hearts of many men and women,
breaking down the wall of pride,
of foolishness and lies,
which imprisons the dignity of man.
And, like an aurora, his ministry raised
on the roads of humanity
the sun of truth that sets you free.
I thank you, o Maria,
for your son John Paul II.
His fortress and his courage, overflowing with love,
have been an echo of your "here I am".
He, making himself "all yours",
everything was made of God:
luminous reflection of the Father's merciful face,
vivid transparency of the friendship of Jesus.
Thank you, dear Holy Father,
for the testimony in love with God that you gave us:
your example tears us from the bottlenecks of human things
to raise us to the heights of God's freedom.
