Devotion to Merciful Jesus: Chaplet of trust to obtain graces

THE IMAGE OF JESUS AND THE DEVOTION TO MERCY
The first element of devotion to Divine Mercy revealed to Saint Faustina was the painted image. He writes: “In the evening, when I was in my cell, I realized that the Lord Jesus was wearing a white robe: one hand raised as a sign of blessing, the other touched the dress on his chest. two large rays came out on his breast, one red and the other pale, in silence I looked intensely at the Lord, my soul was overcome with fear, but also with great joy, after a while Jesus said to me:
'Paint an image according to the scheme you see, with the signature: Jesus I trust in You. I want this image to be revered, first in your chapel and around the world. '"(Diary 47)

She also records the following words of Jesus in relation to the image that had commissioned her to paint and worship:
"I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish, but I also promise victory over its enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death, I myself will defend it as my glory." (Diary 48)

"I offer people a ship with which they must continue to come for thanks to the source of mercy, that ship is this image with the signature: Jesus, I trust you". (Diary 327)

"The two rays indicate the Blood and the Water, the pale ray represents the Water that makes the souls right, the red ray represents the Blood that is the life of souls, these two rays emitted from the depths of My tender mercy when the Mine the agonized heart was opened by a spear on the Cross, these rays protect the souls from the wrath of My Father. Happy is he who dwells in their refuge, because the right hand of God will not take possession of him ". (Diary 299)

"Not in the beauty of the color, nor of the brush, is the greatness of this image, but in my grace." (Diary 313)

"By means of this image I will grant many thanks to souls, for being a reminder of the requests of my mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no use without works". (Diary 742)

On the grains of the Ave Maria (10 times): Queen of Peace and Mother of Mercy I entrust myself to You.

To finish: my Mother Mary I consecrate myself to You. Maria Madre mia I take refuge in You. Maria my Mother I abandon myself to You "

THE POPE OF DIVINE MERCY
Although she died in the dark on October 5, 1938 (a year before Germany invaded Poland, the beginning of the Second World War), Sister Faustina was greeted by Pope John Paul II as "the great apostle of Divine Mercy in our time ". On April 30, 2000, the Pope canonized her as a saint, saying that the message of Divine Mercy she shared is urgently needed at the dawn of the new millennium. Indeed, Santa Faustina was the first canonized saint of the new millennium.
During the period when Saint Faustina received the messages of Our Lord, Karol Wojtyla worked by force in a factory during the Nazi occupation of Poland, which was in view of the convent of Saint Faustina.

Knowledge of the revelations of Saint Faustina became known to Pope John Paul II in the early 1940s, when he was secretly studying for the priesthood in a seminary in Krakow. Karol Wojtyla often visited the convent, first as a priest and then as a bishop.

It was Karol Wojtyla, as archbishop of Krakow, who, after the death of Saint Faustina, was the first to consider bringing the name of Saint Faustina before the Congregation for the Causes of Saints for beatification.

In 1980 Pope John Paul II published his encyclical letter "Dives in Misericordia" (Rich in Misericordia) which invited the Church to dedicate itself to the supplication for God's mercy all over the world. Pope John Paul II said that he felt spiritually very close to Santa Faustina and had thought of her and the message of Divine Mercy when he started "Dives in Misericordia".

On April 30, 2000, that year, the Sunday after Easter, Pope John Paul II canonized Saint Faustina Kowalska before about 250.000 pilgrims. He also approved the message and devotion of Divine Mercy by declaring the Second Sunday of Easter as "Sunday of Divine Mercy" for the universal Church.

In one of his most extraordinary homilies, Pope John Paul II repeated three times that Saint Faustina is "the gift of God in our day". He made the message of Divine Mercy the "bridge for the third millennium". Then he said: “With this act of canonization of Saint Faustina I intend today to transmit this message to the third millennium. I transmit it to all people, so that they learn to know better the true face of God and the true face of their neighbor. In fact, love of God and love of neighbor are inseparable. "

On Sunday, April 27, Pope John Paul II died on the eve of Divine Mercy, and was canonized by Pope Francis on Divine Mercy on Sunday, April 27, 2014. Pope Francis then carried on the message of Divine Mercy by instituting the Year Jubilee of Mercy, which was especially dedicated to the works of spiritual and corporal mercy, in 2016.
