Devotion to Jesus: promises for devotees to his Holy Face

Promises of Our Lord Jesus Christ to the devotees of His Holy Face

1 °. They, thanks to My humanity imprinted in them, will obtain inwardly a living reflection of My Divinity and will be radiated so intimately that, thanks to the resemblance with My Face, they will shine in eternal life more than many other souls.

2nd. I will restore to them, at the point of death, the image of God disfigured by sin.

3rd. By venerating My Face in spirit of atonement, they will be as pleasing to me as Saint Veronica, they will render me a service equal to hers and I will imprint My Divine Features in their soul.

4th. This adorable Face is like the seal of Divinity, which has the power to print the image of God in the souls who turn to It.

5th. The more they care to restore My Face disfigured by insults and impiety, the more I will take care of their disfigured by sin. I will imprint you again in My image and make this soul as beautiful as at the moment of Baptism.

6th. By offering My Face to the Eternal Father. They will appease the Divine anger and obtain the conversion of sinners (as with a large coin)

7th. Nothing will be refused to them when they offer My Holy Face.

8th. I will speak to My Father of all their wishes.

9th. They will work wonders through My Holy Face. I will enlighten them with My Light, surround them with My Love, and grant them perseverance for good.

10 °. I will never abandon them. I will be with My Father, the advocate of all those who with the word, the prayer or the pen, will support My cause in this work of reparation. At the point of death I will purify their soul from all the filth of sin and make them primitive beauty. (Extract from the lives of S. Geltrude and S. Matilde)

SUPPLICATE TO THE HOLY FACE
1. O Jesus, our Savior, show us your Holy face!

We beg you to turn your gaze, full of mercy and expression of pity and forgiveness, on this poor humanity, shrouded in the darkness of error and sin, as in the hour of your death. You promised that, once raised from the ground, you would attract all men, all things to You. And we come to you precisely because you attracted us. We are grateful to you; but we ask you to attract to You, with the irresistible light of your Face, the countless children of your Father who, like the prodigal son of the Gospel parable, wander far from the paternal house and scatter the gifts of God in a miserable way.

2. O Jesus, our Savior, show us your Holy Face!

Your Holy Face radiates light everywhere, as a luminous beacon that guides those who, perhaps without even knowing it, seek you with a restless heart. You make the love-vole invitation resound incessantly: "Come to me, all you who are fatigued and oppressed, and I will refresh you!". We have listened to this invitation and have seen the light of this lighthouse, which has guided us to you, to discover the sweetness, beauty and amiability of your Holy Face. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. But please: the light of your Holy Face tear the mists that surround many people, not only those who have never known you, but also those who, although having known you, have abandoned you, perhaps because they never they had looked into the Face.

3. O Jesus, our Savior, show us your Holy face!

We come to your Holy Face to celebrate your glory, to thank you for the countless spiritual and temporal benefits with which you fill us, to ask for your mercy and your forgiveness and your guide in all moments of our lives , to ask for our sins and those of those who do not forgive your infinite love.

You know, however, how many dangers and temptations our lives and the lives of our loved ones are exposed to; how many evil forces try to push us out of the way you have shown us; how many worries, needs, infirmities, inconveniences are looming over us and our families.

We trust in You. We always carry with us the image of your merciful and benign Face. Please, however: if we were to distract our gaze from you and be attracted by flattery and perverse mirages, your Face shines even brighter in the eyes of our spirit and always attracts us to you that only you are the Way, the Truth and the life.

4. O Jesus, our Savior, show us your Holy Face!

You have placed your Church in the world to be the constant sign of your presence and the instrument of your grace so that the salvation for which You have come in the world, died and risen is realized. Salvation consists in our intimate communion with the Most Holy Trinity and in the fraternal union of the whole human genre.

We thank you for the gift of the Church. But we pray that it may always manifest the light of your Face, always be transparent and limpid, your holy Bride, sure guide of humanity in the ways of history towards the definitive homeland of eternity. May your Holy Face constantly illuminate the Pope, the Bishops, the Priests, the Deacons, the men and women religious, the faithful, so that all may reflect your light and be credible witnesses of your Gospel.

5. O Jesus, our Savior, show us your Holy Face!

And now a last supplication we want to address to all those who zeal devotion to your Holy Face, collaborating, in their state of life, so that all the brothers and sisters know you and love you.

O Jesus, our Savior, may the apostles of your Holy Face radiate your light around him, give witness of faith, hope and charity, and accompany many lost brothers to the house of God the Father and Son and Holy Spirit . Amen.
