Devotion to Mary in May: day 11 "Maria Regina del Purgatorio"

MARY QUEEN OF THE PURGATORY

11 DAY
Holy Mary.

Invocation. - Mary, Mother of mercy, pray for us!

MARY QUEEN OF THE PURGATORY
Nothing stained can enter Heaven. All faults must be repaired either in this life or the other.
Purgatory is the antechamber of Paradise; it is there that souls purify themselves from all remnants of sin. All venial and even mortal sins of which absolution had occurred are discounted to the last cent. Expiatory penalties are atrocious, as can be seen from certain apparitions of the dead.
Our Lady is the merciful Mother of those who are in Purgatory and, as she is Queen of Heaven, so she is also Queen of that kingdom of pain. He longs to relieve the pains of those souls and hasten their entry into Heaven. He cares for every soul, especially his devotees.
In the story of a privileged soul we read: The mercy of God mysteriously transported me to Purgatory, so that I would suffer to see suffer and thus repair. What pain to contemplate the spasm of an endless array of souls! All were resigned. Suddenly a splendor illuminated that dark place; the Queen of Heaven appeared cloaked in glory and all were lifted from their pains; no one seemed to suffer anymore. Our Lady took a soul with her and took her to Heaven. I felt great joy, because I knew that soul, having assisted her on her deathbed. -
As so many Saints teach, the Most Holy Virgin in her feasts frees a good number of her devotees from Purgatory. San Pier Damiani, Doctor of the Holy Church, says that the night before the feast of the Assumption, a multitude of people went to the Basilica of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli, on the Capitol. A certain Marozia, who had been dead for a year, was recognized. Costei said: On the occasion of the feast of the Assumption, the Queen of Heaven descended into Purgatory and freed me and many other souls, approximately in number of the population of Rome. -
A particular gift of the Madonna to her devotees is the Sabatino Privilege, as it was revealed to San Simone Stok. Who benefits from. this privilege, on the first Saturday after death, can be freed from Purgatory.
The conditions are: Bring the Abitino of the Madonna del Carmine, or the medal, with devotion; recite some prayers every day, according to the indications of the Confessor or the Priest
that imposes the Abitino; observe purity well, according to one's state.
To those who want to honor the Virgin a lot, it is recommended to do the Heroic Act of charity, so dear to Mary. Let satisfying merits be placed in her maternal hands, so that she may apply them to the souls of Purgatory, especially to her devotees.
When we pray for the dead, we always make particular mention of the devotees of Viaria.

EXAMPLE

Saint Teresa of Avila, while one day preparing to recite the Rosary in honor of Our Lady, had the vision of Purgatory.
He saw that place of expiation in the form of a large enclosure, where souls suffered in the flames.
At the first Ave Maria del Rosario, he saw a jet of water, which poured from above onto the fire. Subsequently, a new stream of water appeared at each Ave Maria. Meanwhile the souls were getting cold and they would have liked the Rosary to be perpetuated.
The Saint then understood the great utility of the recitation of the Rosary.
In every family they remember dead; in every family there should be the practice of the daily Rosary.

Foil. - All the good that is done during the day to offer it for that soul of Purgatory, who in life was more devoted than Our Lady.

Ejaculation. - Give, oh Lord, eternal rest to the souls of Purgatory!
