Devotion to St. Thomas: the prayer of true forgiveness!

St. Thomas was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He introduced Christianity to India. According to tradition, St. Thomas achieved martyrdom at St. Thomas Monte in Chennai, India, and is buried on the site of the Basilica of St. Thomas. He is the patron saint of India and of architects and builders. His feast is celebrated on 3 July. Here is a prayer dedicated to him.

O Saint Thomas, the Apostle of India, Father of our faith, spread the light of Christ in the hearts of the Indian people. You humbly confessed "My Lord and My God" and sacrificed your life for his love. Please strengthen us with love and faith in Jesus Christ so that we can fully dedicate ourselves to the cause of the kingdom of justice, peace and love. We pray that through your intercession we can be protected from all trials, dangers and temptations and be strengthened in the love of the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Creator of all things, true Source of light and wisdom, noble origin of all being, let a ray of Your brilliance penetrate the darkness of my understanding and take away the double darkness.
in which I was born, a darkness of both sin and ignorance.
Give me a keen sense of understanding, a retentive memory and the ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally. Grant me the talent to be accurate in my explanations and the ability to express myself with completeness and charm. It indicates the beginning, guides the progress and assists in completion.

Glorious St. Thomas, your love for Jesus and faith in him as Lord and God are an inspiration for all those who seek Jesus, in fact, you have given up your life as an apostle and missionary. Therefore, encourage us to be courageous in bearing witness to the faith and in proclaiming the gospel. You lead us to be missionaries in our endeavors. As our patron, pray for us as we build a new Catholic church in Clyde North. We ask for your intercession to be able to dedicate ourselves to the service of Jesus and his mission, in fact, we pray you.
