Devotion to Sant'Anna, mother of the Madonna, to ask for a grace
Anna and Gioacchino are the parents of the Virgin Mary. Joachim is a pastor and lives in Jerusalem, an elderly priest is married to Anna. The two had no children and were an older couple. One day while Gioacchino is working in the fields, an angel appears to announce the birth of a son and Anna also has the same vision. They call their child Maria, which means "loved by God". Joachim once again brings his gifts to the temple: together with the child, ten lambs, twelve calves and a hundred spotless kids. Later Mary is led to the temple to be educated according to the law of Moses. Sant'Anna is invoked as protector of pregnant women, who turn to her to obtain three great favors from God: a happy birth, a healthy child and enough milk to be able to raise him. PRAYER TO SANT'ANNA
Anna, truly blessed woman, from the fruit of your womb we have the joy of contemplating the Mother of God made man. Mother Anna, what mind does not feel lost thinking about the honor and privilege that the highest God has reserved for you by choosing you as the mother of Mary. Mother Anna, you kept yourself small and hidden, gathered in a humble little house and in the secret of the temple, united with your husband Joachim and you waited with trepidation for the compliments of Heavenly Father who bending over you prepared you to be Jesus' grandmother. Mother Anna , truly blessed woman, we entrust our prayers, our needs, our anxieties to you, share them with us and present them to your grandson Jesus. Squeeze us, carry us in your arms as you did with Mary and do not leave us until we reach you. in the Blessed Motherland.

PRAYER TO SANT'ANNA
O blessed among the mothers, glorious St. Anne who had the Mother of God as your subject and obedient daughter, I admire the height of your election and the graces with which the Most High adorned you! I unite with the Blessed Virgin Mary always in honoring you, in loving you, in entrusting myself to your protection. I consecrate my whole life to Jesus, to Mary and to you as a humble tribute to my devotion; you obtain me that passes for me holy and worthy of Paradise. So be it.
PRAYER TO SANT'ANNA
The heart of the most sincere veneration is full, I bow down to you, glorious Saint Anna. You are that privileged and beloved creature who for your extraordinary virtues and holiness deserved the highest grace from God to give life to the Treasurer of all graces, to the Blessed among women, to the Mother of the Incarnate Word, the Most Holy Virgin Mary. Deh! to the consideration of such an excellent favor, deign yourselves, most compassionate Saint, to receive me in the number of your true devotees, whom I protest and want to be for all my life. Surround me with your effective patronage and impetrate from God the imitation of those virtues, of which you were so widely adorned. Let me know, cry my sins bitterly! Get me a deep love for Jesus and Mary, a faithful and constant practice of the duties of my state. Save me from every danger in life and assist me at the point of death, so that unless I come to heaven to praise with you, most happy Mother, the Word of God made man in the womb of your most pure Daughter, the Virgin Mary. So be it.

SS. Anna and Joachim, you who are the grandparents of Jesus, look at us earthly grandparents, imperfect, but in love with our grandchildren whom we love almost more than our children, because in each of them we see the Baby Jesus in need of care and attention.
Watch, guide us, correct us. Let our attitudes always be based on love and respect so as to be able to transmit to them our faith in your nephew Jesus. Amen
