Devotion to St. Stephen: the prayer that will save you from condemnation!

Stefano, Stefano, I say: here is a place for goodness, here is a time for mercy, here at least is an opportunity to show charity! Because I am constantly in danger, even if I don't always recognize it, and I am all the more miserable and miserable when I forget that this is the case. Because God always sees my sins, always his severe judgment threatens the sinfulness of my soul, always hell opens up and his torments are ready to tear my miserable soul in that place.

So I am placed when I wake up, so when I sleep; I am like this when I smile, like this when I joke. When I'm proud, so when I'm humiliated. When claimed; so, so I am when I miserably love the delights of the flesh. So I am then always and everywhere. So please, Stephen, hurry before I am doomed, before the enemies of the human race kidnap me to torment, before the prison of hell swallows me, before the torments of eternal fire consume me.

Truly my need is great when it pushes me to ask for help even from those by whom I deserve to be punished. But you and all the saints are so full of such richness from the infinite source of all goodness, that you rather delight in delivering with your goodness those whom you can condemn for justice. So Glorious and Most Holy Stephen, Deliver me from certain condemnation and protect me and my family from dark and earthly evils. Because only with you will we be able to find the blessed way of salvation.

To be completely free from all evil, grant us the grace to go through the cruelty of the world every night with you. And let us see life through your most holy eyes. You who reside at the right hand of our Eternal Father and his son Jesus Christ have mercy on our poor souls. Protect us until eternal happiness is achieved.
