Devotion to the Saints: five sentences from Padre Pio for today 22 July

22. Before meditation, pray to Jesus, Our Lady and Saint Joseph.

23. Charity is the queen of virtues. Just as pearls are held together by thread, so are virtues from charity. And how, if the thread breaks, the pearls fall; thus, if charity is lost, the virtues are dispersed.

24. I suffer and suffer greatly; but thanks to the good Jesus I still feel a little strength; and what is the creature helped by Jesus not capable of?

25. Fight, daughter, when you are strong, if you want to have the prize of strong souls.

26. You must always have prudence and love. Prudence has eyes, love has legs. The love that has legs would like to run to God, but his impulse to rush towards him is blind, and sometimes he could stumble if he were not guided by the prudence he has in his eyes. Prudence, when he sees that love could be unbridled, lends his eyes.

O Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, who carried the signs of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ on your body. You who carried the Cross for all of us, enduring the physical and moral sufferings that scourged you body and soul in a continuous martyrdom, intercede with God so that each of us knows how to accept the small and large Crosses of life, transforming every single suffering into a sure bond that binds us to Eternal Life.

«It is better to tame with sufferings, which Jesus will like to send you. Jesus who cannot suffer to hold you in affliction, will come to solicit you and comfort you by instilling new spirit in your spirit ». Father Pio

O Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, who alongside Our Lord Jesus Christ, you have been able to resist the temptations of the evil one. You who have suffered the beatings and harassment of the demons of hell who wanted to induce you to abandon your path of holiness, intercede with the Most High so that we too with your help and with that of all Heaven, will find the strength to renounce to sin and keep the faith until the day of our death.

«Take heart and don't be afraid of Lucifer's dark ire. Remember forever this: that it is a good sign when the enemy roars and roars around your will, since this shows that he is not inside. " Father Pio

O Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, who loved the Celestial Mother so much to receive daily graces and consolations, intercede for us with the Holy Virgin by placing our sins and cold prayers in His hands, so that as in Cana of Galilee, the Son say yes to the Mother and our name may be written in the Book of Life.

«May Mary be the star, that you may lighten the path, show you the sure way to go to the Heavenly Father; May it be an anchor, to which you must increasingly closely join in the time of trial ". Father Pio
