Devotion to the crucifix: my prayer

O Jesus, son of our almighty god, who put on the cross by your own children you have blotted out our sins. Make us strength against the devil and open the eternal light in us, let the immense love shine in us and direct our souls to the door of heaven. So that your sacrifice is not in vain and to be able to live the peace you promised.

We kneel at the cross, O Jesus, as it is not only a meaningless symbol for us but a powerful and constant call to forgiveness. Without any mercy stuck in the wood of the cross you have had no word of hatred and revenge for your killers. Only words of love and forgiveness came from your lips. Flogged by terrestrial ignorance, you chose to die to save us our sins, driven by a healthy love for us children.

The cross is for us a symbol of your love, a symbol of your strength and courage shown to us during your short but intense life lived together with my sinful brothers. Every day your call is strong and alive in my heart and kneeling at your feet I pray for my soul. I pray that she may have the enormous and long-awaited privilege of sitting in Heaven with the chosen devotees of the holy church.

Every evening I pray for you and every moment of the day I direct my gaze to the sky feeling enormously full and alive with love. That love that you gave me and I thank you by giving love to my neighbor, as you yourself have taught, as you yourself have done.

The crucifix we created did not wound your soul and did not imbue your heart with hatred, yet my hands tremble when joined they prepare to pray. every day in my mind I whisper phrases dictated by the heart to feel closer to you.
