Devotion to the Sacred Head of Jesus: the message, the promises, the prayer

DEVOTION TO THE SACRED HEAD OF JESUS

This devotion is summarized in the following words spoken by the Lord Jesus to Teresa Elena Higginson on June 2, 1880:

"You see, O beloved daughter, I am dressed and mocked like a madman in the house of my friends, I am mocked, I who am God of Wisdom and Science. To Me, King of kings, the Almighty, a simulacrum of scepter is offered. And if you want to reciprocate me, you could not do better than say that the devotion on which I have so often entertained you is made known.

I wish the first Friday following the feast of my Sacred Heart to be reserved as a feast day in honor of my Sacred Head, as the Temple of Divine Wisdom and to offer me a public adoration to repair all the outrages and sins that are continually committed against of me." And again: "It is an immense desire of my Heart that my Message of salvation be propagated and known by all men."

On another occasion, Jesus said, "Consider the ardent desire I feel to see my honored Holy Head as I have taught you."

To better understand, here are some excerpts from the writings of English mysticism to his spiritual Father:

“Our Lord showed me this Divine Wisdom as a guiding power that regulates motions and affections of the Sacred Heart. He made me understand that the adoration and special venerations must be reserved for the Sacred Head of our Lord, as the Temple of Divine Wisdom and the guiding power of the sentiments of the Sacred Heart. Our Lord also showed me how the Head is the point of union of all the senses of the body and how this devotion is not only the complement, but also the crowning and perfection of all devotions. Anyone who venerates his Sacred Head will draw upon himself the best gifts from Heaven.

Our Lord also said: “Do not be discouraged by the difficulties that will arise and the crosses that will be numerous: I will be your support and your reward will be great. Anyone who will help you to propagate this devotion will be blessed a thousand times, but woe to those who reject it or act against My desire in this regard, because I will disperse them in my anger and I will never want to know where they are. To those who honor me I will give from my Power. I will be their God and their My children. I will put My Sign on their foreheads and my Seal on their lips. " (Seal = Wisdom)

Teresa says: “Our Lord and his Holy Mother consider this devotion as a powerful means of repairing the outrage that was made to the Most Wise and Most Holy God when he was crowned with thorns, derided, scorned and dressed like a madman. It would seem now that these thorns are about to bloom, I mean that He would currently wish to be crowned and recognized as the Wisdom of the Father, true King of kings. And as in the past the Star led the Magi to Jesus and Mary, in recent times the Sun of Justice must lead us to the Throne of the Divine Trinity. The Sun of Justice is about to rise and we will see it in the Light of His Face and if we let ourselves be guided by this Light, He will open the eyes of our soul, instruct our intelligence, give recollection to our memory, nourish our imagination of a real and beneficial substance, it will guide and bend our will, it will fill our intellect with good things and our heart with everything it could desire. "

“Our Lord made me feel that this devotion will be like the mustard seed. Although little known in the present, it will become in the future the great devotion of the Church because it honors all Sacred Humanity, the Holy Soul and the Intellectual Faculties that until now have not been particularly revered and are nevertheless the noblest parts of the human being: the Sacred Head, the Sacred Heart and in fact the whole Sacred Body.

DAILY PRAYER TO THE SACRED HEAD OF JESUS

O Sacred Head of Jesus, Temple of Divine Wisdom, who guides all the motions of the Sacred Heart, inspires and directs all my thoughts, my words, my actions.

For your sufferings, O Jesus, for your Passion from Gethsemane to Calvary, for the crown of thorns that tore your forehead, for your precious Blood, for your Cross, for the love and pain of your Mother, make your desire triumph for the glory of God, the salvation of all souls and the joy of your Sacred Heart. Amen.
