Devotion to the Sacred Heart: the prayer dictated by Jesus to Santa Margherita Maria

I donate and consecrate it to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, the person and my life, my works, pains, sufferings, in order not to want to use any part of my being any more than to honor and glorify him.

This is my irrevocable will: to be all hers and to do everything for her sake, giving up with all my heart what could displease him.

I take you, therefore, Sacred Heart, for the only object of my love, for the protector of my life, for the safety of my salvation, for the remedy of my fragility and inconstancy, for the repairer of all the faults of my life, and for sure asylum in the hour of my death.

O Heart of kindness, be my justification to God, your Father, and remove from me the threats of his just indignation.

O heart of love, I place all my trust in you, because I fear everything from my malice and weakness, but I hope everything from your goodness; consume in me what can displease you and resist you.

Your pure love is so deeply impressed in my heart that I can never forget you, nor ever be separated from you. For your goodness I beg you to grant me that my name is written in your Heart, because I want to make my happiness and glory consist in living and dying as your slave. Amen.

(This consecration was recommended by our Lord to Saint Margaret Mary).

Promises and desires of the heart of Jesus
In the writings of Saint Margaret Mary there are numerous promises made by Jesus to the devotees of his Sacred Heart; various desires are also exposed which Jesus himself has manifested to the saint. We present them in summary form, thinking that they can benefit in our piety.

want

1. That his devotees approach often and well to holy communion.

2. May they not fail, even at the cost of sacrifice, to go to communion on the first Friday of the month in repair of the offenses that that divine Heart receives from human ingratitude.

(on that day it is better to renew the acts of consecration and reparation).

3. That they honor his image, keep it exposed in their homes, and carry it on their chests.

4. That they make spiritual and frequent visits to the Church; if impeded, they make a spiritual visit by turning in spirit to the sacramented Jesus.

5. That they are in church with the utmost respect, often making amends and reparations.

6. May they show themselves with all myths and humble by enduring their defects with charity and patience.

7. May they often meditate on the pains of his passion and death. 8. May they celebrate the feast of the Sacred Heart with solemnity. (Friday after the feast of Corpus Christi, commissioned by our Lord himself, by introducing his novena).

9. May they consecrate the last days of carnival to the Sacred Heart, a time when, more than any other, the Heart of Jesus is outraged.

Promise

1. He will give them all the graces necessary for their state. 2. I will put and keep peace in their families. 3. I will console them in all their pains.

4. I will be their refuge in life and especially on the point of death.

5. I will spread abundant blessings over all their endeavors. 6. The sinners will find in my Heart the infinite source and ocean of mercy.

7. Lukewarm souls will become enraged.

8. Fervent souls will soon ascend to great perfection.

9. I will bless the houses where the image of my Sacred Heart will be exposed and honored.

10. I will give priests the grace to move hardened hearts. 11. The name of those who propagate this devotion will be written in my Heart and will never be canceled.

The great promise of the nine fridays:

12. In the excess of the mercy of my all-knowing love I will grant to all those who communicate on the first Friday of each month for nine consecutive months the grace of the final penance, so that they will not die in my misfortune, nor without receiving the sacraments; and my Heart in that extreme hour will be their safe refuge.

Offer of the day to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Divine heart of Jesus, I offer you, through the immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of the Church, in union with the Eucharistic sacrifice, the prayers and actions, the joys and sufferings of this day, in reparation of sins and for the salvation of all men, in the grace of the Holy Spirit, to the glory of the divine Father.
