Devotion to the Sacred Heart every day: prayer on December 16th

THE PROMISES OF THE HEART
1 I will give them all the graces necessary for their state.

2 I will put peace in their families.

3 I will console them in all their afflictions.

4 I will be their safe haven in life and especially on the point of death.

5 I will spread the most abundant blessings over all their endeavors.

6 Sinners will find in my heart the source and ocean of mercy.

7 Lukewarm souls will become fervent.

8 Fervent souls will rise rapidly to great perfection.

9 I will bless the houses where the image of my Sacred Heart will be exposed and venerated

10 I will give priests the gift of moving the hardest hearts.

11 The people who propagate this devotion of mine will have their name written in my Heart and it will never be canceled.

12 To all those who will communicate for nine consecutive months on the first Friday of each month I promise the grace of the final penance; they will not die in my misfortune, but they will receive the sacred minds and my Heart will be their safe haven in that extreme moment.

PRAYER
I greet you, Sacred Heart of Jesus, living and life-giving source of eternal life, infinite treasure of divinity, ardent furnace of divine love. You are the place of my refuge, the refuge of my security. O my lovable Savior, light my heart with that most ardent love that inflames your Heart; pour into my heart the great graces that find the living source in your Heart; make your will become my will and always conform to it, because I want your holy will to be the rule of all my desires and all my actions for the future. Amen.

COMMENT ON THE FIRST PROMISE OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
"I WILL GIVE MY DEVOTED ALL THE THANKS NECESSARY FOR THEIR STATE".

this is the translation of the cry of Jesus which is addressed to the crowds of the whole world: "O you who are panting under the weight of fatigue, come to me and I will refresh you".

As his voice reaches all consciences, so his graces reach everywhere a human creature breathes and renews itself with each beat of his heart. Jesus invites everyone to speak in a unique way. The Sacred Heart showed His pierced Heart so that men could draw life from it and draw it more abundantly than they have drawn from it in the past. Jesus promises grace of a particular efficacy to fulfill the obligations of his own state to those who seriously will practice such amiable devotion.

From His Heart Jesus brings forth a stream of internal help: good inspirations, solutions to problems that flash suddenly, inner pushes, unusual vigor in the practice of good.

From that Divine Heart flows a second river, that of external aid: useful friendships, providential affairs, escaped dangers, regained health.

Parents, masters, workers, domestic workers, teachers, doctors, lawyers, traders, industrialists, all in devotion to the Sacred Heart will find defense from the tragic daily life and refreshment in their tiredness. And to each one in particular the Sacred Heart wishes to lavish countless graces in every state, in every event, at any time.

Just as the heart of man pours out the individual cells of the organism with each beat, so the heart of Jesus with each grace pours down all its faithful with its grace.
