Devotion to the Sacred Heart every day: prayer on December 23th

Love of the Heart of Jesus, inflame my heart.

Charity of the Heart of Jesus, spread in my heart.

Strength of the Heart of Jesus, support my heart.

Mercy of the Heart of Jesus, make my heart sweet.

Patience of the Heart of Jesus, do not tire of my heart.

Kingdom of the Heart of Jesus, settle in my heart.

Wisdom of the Heart of Jesus, teach my heart.

THE PROMISES OF THE HEART
1 I will give them all the graces necessary for their state.

2 I will put peace in their families.

3 I will console them in all their afflictions.

4 I will be their safe haven in life and especially on the point of death.

5 I will spread the most abundant blessings over all their endeavors.

6 Sinners will find in my heart the source and the ocean of mercy.

7 Lukewarm souls will become fervent.

8 Fervent souls will rise rapidly to great perfection.

9 I will bless the houses where the image of my Sacred Heart will be exposed and venerated

10 I will give priests the gift of moving the hardest hearts.

11 The people who propagate this devotion of mine will have their name written in my Heart and it will never be canceled.

12 To all those who will communicate for nine consecutive months on the first Friday of each month I promise the grace of the final penance; they will not die in my misfortune, but they will receive the sacred minds and my Heart will be their safe haven in that extreme moment.

COMMENT TO THE NINTH PROMISE
"I WILL BLESS THE HOUSES WHERE THE IMAGE OF MY HEART WILL BE EXPOSED AND VENERATED".

Jesus in this ninth promise lays bare all his sensitive love, just as each of us is moved by seeing his own image preserved. If a person we love opens our wallet before our eyes and shows us, smiling, our photograph that he jealously guards on the heart, we deeply feel his sweetness; but even more we feel taken with such tenderness when we see our image in the most visible corner of the house and held with the utmost care by our loved ones. So Jesus. He insists so much on the "particular pleasure" that he feels in seeing his own image exposed again, making us think of the psychology of the adolescents, who more easily let themselves be touched by delicate expressions of tenderness and concern. When one thinks that Jesus wanted to take humanity in its entirety, except sin, one is no longer surprised, on the contrary, it is found as natural that all the nuances of human sensitivity, in their vast range and in the maximum intensity, are summarized in that divine Heart which is more tender than the mother's heart, more delicate than the sister's heart, more fervent than the bride's heart, simpler than the child's heart, more generous than the hero's heart.

However, it should be immediately added that Jesus wants to see the image of his Sacred Heart exposed to public veneration, not only because this delicacy satisfies, in part, his intimate need for concern and attention, but above all because with that Heart of his pierced by love wants to hit the imagination and, through fantasy, to conquer the sinner who looks at the image, and to open a breach through the senses.

"He promised to impress his love on the hearts of all of them who will carry this image and to destroy any unruly movement in them."

We welcome this desire of Jesus as an act of love and honor, so that He will guard us in the love of His Heart.
