Devotion to the Madonna: consecration to Jesus Christ by the hands of Mary

O eternal and incarnate Wisdom! O most lovable and most adorable Jesus, true man, the only-begotten Son of the eternal Father and of Mary always Virgin!

I adore you deeply in the bosom and splendors of your Father, in eternity, and in the virginal womb of Mary, your most worthy Mother, in the time of your incarnation.

I thank you for having annihilated yourself, taking the form of a slave, to free me from the cruel slavery of the devils; I praise you and glorify you for wanting to submit to Mary, your holy Mother, in everything, to make me, through her, your faithful slave.

Ungrateful and unfaithful as I am, I have not kept the vows and promises that I have so solemnly made to you in my baptism: I have not fulfilled my obligations, I do not deserve to be called your son or your servant and, since there is nothing in me , who does not deserve your reproaches and your anger, I no longer dare from myself to approach your holy and august Majesty.

Therefore I appeal to the intercession and mercy of your most holy Mother, who you gave me as mediator with you, and through her I hope to obtain from you the contrition and forgiveness of my sins, the purchase and preservation of Wisdom.

So I greet you, O Mary immaculate, living tabernacle of the divinity, in which the hidden eternal wisdom wants to be honored by angels and men.

I greet you, O Queen of heaven and earth, to whose command everything is subject, everything is below God; I greet you, o safe refuge of sinners, whose mercy has not been lacking in anyone: grant my wishes of divine Wisdom, and receive for this the vows and offerings that my littleness presents to you.

I, NN, an unfaithful sinner, renew and confirm today, in your hands, the vows of my baptism: I renounce forever Satan, his vanities and his works, and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, Wisdom incarnate, to bring the my cross behind him every day of my life, and to make him more faithful than he has been to this day.

I choose you today, in the presence of the whole heavenly court, as Mother and Lady. I abandon you and consecrate you, as a slave, my body and my soul, my internal and external goods, and the very value of my good past, present and future actions, leaving you complete and full right to dispose of me and of all that belongs to me, without exception, according to your approval, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity.

Receive, little benign Virgin, this little offer of my slavery, in honor and in union with the submission that eternal Wisdom wanted to have for your motherhood: in homage to the power that you both have over this small and miserable sinner, and in thanksgiving [of the privileges] with which the Holy Trinity has favored you.

I declare now that I want, as your true servant, to seek your honor and obey you in everything.

O admirable Mother! introduce me to your dear Son as an eternal servant, so that, having redeemed me through you, he will receive me through you.

O Mother of Mercy! Give me the grace to obtain the true Wisdom of God, and therefore included in the number of those you love, educate, guide, feed and protect as your children and your servants.

O faithful Virgin, make me in all such a perfect disciple, imitator and slave of incarnate Wisdom, Jesus Christ your Son, to arrive, with your intercession, following your example, to the fullness of his age on earth, and of his glory in heavens. So be it.
