Devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes: "With his help my soul has been purified"

"With his help my soul has been purified"
Servant of God Sister Angela Sorazu (1873 1921)

Even in Sister Angela, Mary's continuous intervention on the path of purification towards holiness is very clear: “I openly confess it to the whole world: I owe everything to the Virgin Mary. Although I tended towards perfection, observance and practice of virtues, when I consecrated myself to Our Lady I was still far from God because full of defects, like a wild trunk that is fruitless. But as soon as I began to live a Marian life, this trunk developed with surprising rapidity! Blessed be God who accepted my prayer and allowed me to live a profound consecration to Mary.

“Great is the love I have for Mary, but even greater are the benefits that my soul brings back. Maria's protection is very unique. With this she deigns to reward my total dependence on her. It guides me in my doubts, gives me energy in moments of trial, guides me in following the path of perfection.

I owe to Mary the ease with which I have overcome so many obstacles, my loyalty to grace, my resignation in painful trials: in a word I owe you all the good of my soul.

"Our Lady taught me the science of pure love ... with her help my soul was purified, my pride and my damned self-love was destroyed, so that I submitted myself to divine desires more perfectly, I am moved away from sin and I truly entered the inner life, the path of Christian perfection, solid pity! I learned from the Blessed Virgin to consider as defective not only sins and shortcomings properly so called, but also everything that directly or indirectly opposes the most holy Will of God ".

This is one of Sister Angela's prayers: "Accept, my Mother, my consecration and offering by receiving my soul in yours, my heart in yours, all my existence in yours ... Identify me with you both in being and in operate and do not allow, my Mother, that from now on I do something that you would not have done, so I can say with all truth that I live, but it is no longer I who live: it is you, my Mother, who live and reign in me! "

Commitment: Let us propose to offer Jesus our every day through the hands of Mary and to often address a thought, a prayer, a praise to her.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
