Devotion to the water of the Collevalenza sanctuary

The water of the sanctuary

From reading the text of the "parchment" which on July 14, 1960 was thrown with a special container at the bottom of the Well, during a sober ceremony, we can know the specific purposes for which Divine Providence wanted this water. These are words received from Mother Hope by Jesus during an ecstasy of the previous April 3. The text says:
“Decree: This water and swimming pools must be named after my sanctuary. I want you to say, until it affects the heart and mind of all those who turn to you, who use this water with great faith and trust and will always be freed from serious infirmities; and that first they all go to take care of their poor souls from the plagues that afflict them for this Sanctuary of mine where not a judge awaits them to condemn them and give them punishment immediately, but a Father who loves them, forgives, does not take into account, and forgets "..
From here, in fact, one of the phrases carved on the façade of the pools draws inspiration: "Use this water with faith and love, sure that it will serve as a refreshment to the body and health to the soul".
The thaumaturgical purposes of this water and its interdependence with the pastoral action of the Shrine are likewise expressed in the "Prayer for the Shrine", composed by the Foundress herself:
“… Bless, my Jesus, your great Sanctuary and let them always come to visit it from all over the world: some ask you for health for their limbs torn by diseases that human science cannot cure; others ask you to forgive your vices and sins; others, finally, to obtain health for one's soul drowned in vice ... And ago, my Jesus, that people from all over the world come to this Shrine of yours, not only with the desire to heal bodies from the strangest and most painful diseases, but also to cure souls from the leprosy of mortal and habitual sin ”.
Further clarifications on the purposes of the water come from other words of Mother Hope. On February 6, 1960, when he was still at the first attempts to drill the well, participating in a community act with his religious, he illustrated the aims of the Opera to them: "The Mother ... takes the opportunity to tell us that in the garden he will have to find water and that this will have to feed the pools of merciful love; that to this water the Lord will give the power to cure from cancer and paralysis, figures of souls in mortal sin and in usual venial sin ".
These concepts return, even better developed, to the ecstasy at the Pozzo on May 6, the day of the discovery of the first aquifer:
"... Thank you, Lord! It gives strength to this water to heal cancer and paralysis, one figure of mortal sin and the other of habitual sin ... Cancer kills man, undoes it; paralysis makes it useless, it doesn't make it walk ... It gives water the virtue of healing the sick, the poor sick who have no means, even with a single drop of water ... Let this water be the figure of your grace and of your mercy ".
It is still necessary to specify that, among the various forms of cancer, Mother Hope clearly understood that a specific mention had to be made for leukemia.
