Devotion to the seven joys of Mary to obtain graces

1. Hail, Mary, full of grace, temple of the Trinity, ornament of supreme goodness and mercy. For this joy of yours, we ask you to deserve that God Trinity always dwell in our heart and welcome us into the land of the living.

2. Hail, Mary, star of the sea. As the flower does not lose beauty because of the perfume it gives off, so you do not lose the candor of virginity for the birth of the Creator. O pious Mother, for your second joy, be our teacher in welcoming Jesus into our life.

3. Hail, Mary, the star you see stopping on the baby Jesus invites you to rejoice because all people adore your Son. O star of the world, ensure that we too can offer Jesus the gold of the purity of our mind, the myrrh of the chastity of our flesh, the incense of prayer and continuous adoration.

4. Hail, Mary, a fourth joy is granted to you: the resurrection of Jesus on the third day. This event strengthens faith, brings hope back, grants grace. O Virgin, mother of the Risen One, pour out prayers at all hours so that, thanks to this joy, at the end of our life, we are gathered together with the blessed choirs of the citizens of heaven.

5. Hail, Mary, you received a fifth joy when you saw the Son rise to glory. Through this joy we implore not to submit to the powers of the devil, but to go up to heaven, where we can finally enjoy with you and your Son.

6. Hail, Mary, full of grace. The sixth joy is given to you by the Holy Spirit Paraclete, when he descends from Pentecost in the form of tongues of fire. For this joy of yours we hope that the Holy Spirit will burn with his fire of grace the sins caused by our bad language.

7. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. To the seventh joy, Christ invited you when he called you from this world to heaven, raising you above all celestial choirs. O Mother and Teacher, intercede for us so that we too may be raised to the highest of the virtues of faith, hope and charity in order to one day be united with the choirs of the blessed in eternal joy.

Let's pray

Lord Jesus Christ, who have deigned to rejoice the glorious Virgin Mary with this sevenfold joy, allow me to celebrate these same joys devoutly, so that, through your maternal intercession and its glorious merits, I can always be freed from all sadness present and deserve to rejoice eternally in your glory, together with her and all your saints. Amen.
