Devotion of the day: the thing to do "eternal salvation"

Eternal salvation is the first of business. Meditate on this profound sentence which converted so many sinners and populated Heaven with thousands of Saints. Having lost the soul, what will the accumulated riches, the honors, the pleasures enjoyed? What will the triumphs, the praises of the world, the science, the vanity, the vented ambition worth? Even if you were king or queen, what good would it be if you then fell into hell? Even if all is lost in the world, what does it matter as long as we save ourselves? Think about it…

It is difficult to save us. Do not be frightened because, if it is difficult, it is not impossible with God's help. But Jesus said: The door is narrow, and the road that leads to Life is thorny and difficult, and few find it (Matth., VII, 14 ). I do not recognize as my disciple if not the one who denies himself, takes up his cross and follows me. - What do you think? How do you manage to find yourself among the few? How do you fight your passions, and how do you carry your cross?

It is an irreparable deal. A few years of life decide our eternity… What a thought! Given the last breath, the fact is done. No more hope of doing better again! No more time and graces to procure virtues and merits; the door of forgiveness is no longer open ... Where the tree will fall, it will stay there; .., either I save with Jesus, Mary and the Saints, or eternally damned with the demons ... So it is worth sacrificing perhaps everything to save you.

PRACTICE. - Recite three Pater before Jesus, protesting to him that he wants to save you at any cost.
